Carb bonnet + Inline air filter?

Im thinking of making/ buying something like this ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blow-Through-Carb-Hat-Throttle-Body-Turbo-Bonnet-Performance-Power-/400615738667?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d468f0d2b&vxp=mtr ) and then connecting it to some hose and this inline airfilter ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spectre-9833-Polished-Inline-Aluminum-Air-Box-/111059733984?_trksid=p2054897.l4275 ) then to the air intake hole on the front of the B210.

 

Is this a stupid/ bad idea?

Your stock air filter and housing is better and if you have smog checks that won't pass as you've messed with the emissions system.

It could result in some minor ram-air effects.

 

 

Is it worth it?  Probably not. 

 

 

 

If you wanna go fast get some real mods.  Carb, cam, ect.

If you want fresh air run some dryer vent hose from the snorkel to the rad support or out one of the headlight high beams. That air filter thing is to the intake what a fart cannon is to the exhaust.

I think it is cool- you won't see many people with this little Mod.  I think if you manu'd a whole assembly- throttle/carb hat with intake hose to fender opening designed for intake hose, it would be a cool little intake system.  haters will hate.

Mod stock air cleaner to hose like DatzenMike said...Or find something different.

Where will you find replacement air filter cartridges? The stock ones are down town. Also the stock air cleaner has the warmed air connection to the exhaust and an idle compensator valve in it.

Keep it stock, and put the 89+ bucks in your gas tank. B)

No but easy enough to trim the bottom and drill 4 holes and mount the stock one.

B210s came stock with a fresh air inlet. It is a bit on the small side compared to aftermarket ones, but plenty big for the stock 80 HP engine. So why not just find a stock inlet tube and connect it back where it belongs?
