I'm just surmising based on the add saying "needs work & 241,xxx miles"

 

Kalifornia has one of the most stringent smog requirements of any state if not THE MOST stringent. It's not only a "sniffer test" but a visual one as well ...... for example:.......  on a post 1975 vehicle with emission readings within an acceptable passing range the absence of a catalytic converter is an automatic fail based on a visual inspection.... ridiculous but true.

I messaged this guy when he first made the ad a while back. He sent me a picture (unfortunately I don't have it anymore) but it looked like it in was in very good condition. I was very surprised. Definitely worth contacting him about.
