akawes
I've searched the forum I haven't really seen much on this engine. Well there is that whole jason grey post. I was looking more for if someone has built and ran this engine. I had questions on reliability and power. Quote Link to comment

metalmonkey47
Currently waiting on parts for my LZ22 long rod motor. I'll have it going in a few weeks if all goes well. A87 peanut, big cam, big valves, huge ports, forged everything. Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
I had one, NapZ 2.2 long rod, U67 head, 10.5:1, torquey and fun. What cam/carb were you running? That motors freakin powerful! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Boys you are getting off topic. It's all good info, but it's the 2.1 motor that needs this info. L20B crank / Z22E pistons or equivalent, / Z20E long (6" or 152.5mm) rods. Quote Link to comment
converted_to_datsun
exactly! thanks mike lol You both have some awesome motors going on tho. The power looks addicting. I'm currently running an L20b with a closed chamber head and sss L18 flat top su's and even that power is fun Quote Link to comment

What carbs were you running? I'm still very curious what my LZ is going to do with a 32/36, until I can afford some big carbs. Quote Link to comment

Ranman72
89mm If I Am Correct? Thats +4mm Overbore No Thanks Haha well I think they are KA but Rebello builds reliable dyno backed horse power in these motors and has done it for years so whatever is in it I'm not scared Quote Link to comment
Zeusimo
Im Sure It's Fine If That's What They Use But I Heard There Are Certain Blocks That Can Be Bored Over More That Others Something About The Casting...? Quote Link to comment
akawes
I had one, NapZ 2.2 long rod, U67 head, 10.5:1, torquey and fun.that road looks amazing to drive I'm super jealous. I've got a nice windy road like that but there's to many cars on it all the time. if I do this engine I want to try and hunt down a V912 head for it. Quote Link to comment
converted_to_datsun
yea the z22 block is already 2mm bigger bore than the L20 block so it would only be a 2mm overbore to fit the pistons Quote Link to comment

RAT510
Im looking at building a 2.1 long rod for my 510. ive been searching the net for more info also but decided im just going build it and see. It seems to have a good rod stroke ratio and large displacement so how could you go wrong? Another plus is thats its relatively simple. My only concern would be boring the L20 block out to 88mm if you wanted to get close to 2100cc. I guess there is the z22 block option to combat that. How much can you safely bored an L20? akawes
haha yeah an os giken head would give you all you need. But we all know people here like to do stuff on the cheap more often than not. Quote Link to comment
