Draker
Nice work on your 510. Paint the whole car and then color match is not a problem. Eventually I'll do that. Lots more body work to be done before I can spray it all. 2 Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
Middle pic is of a junk door I sprayed to test the gun settings and check the color match. Pretty close.. not perfect. You know that color darkens up a lot when you buff it, though? It might match if you do that. ^_^ 1 Quote Link to comment

Draker
Paint is still wet.. layer down really nice. Some dust as expected. Might have a spot or two that came out a bit thin, only time will tell. Might need another coat at some point.. but not looking to do that any time soon.I was too nervous to fuck up what I had going.. and what would have really helped... is a lot more light in the booth. Ah well.. I think it looks pretty good. 6 Quote Link to comment
KoHeartsGPA
Let it sit and cure, it changes the tone a little bit, I remember with my dime. Quote Link to comment

Draker
Door is in pretty crappy shape. Lots of dents.. but better than the crushed in original. 1 Quote Link to comment
Voidtraveler
The before and after on that rear QP are pretty dramatic having seen it for the first time at Canby. 1 Quote Link to comment

Voidtraveler
Almost looks like I knew what I was doing.. lol Honestly, I was completely surprised. I thought you were rattle can-ing it since I wasn't on here yet and you said you did it the night before. You really did a lot to get it done and head up Friday. Also, still glad we came up Friday! Saturday would not have been possible for me otherwise. I would have just stuck to my original plan with the race day and missed all the Datsun amazingness. Would have been a MUCH cheaper life choice tho I'm guessing ;) 2 Quote Link to comment
moath
The color has grown on me. Did you make it to Canby this year? No! We'd accidentally scheduled a trip to southern Oregon to see family the same weekend a few months beforehand. I'm disappointed I didn't make it, the pictures I saw made it look great. 2 Quote Link to comment
KoHeartsGPA
Door is in pretty crappy shape. Lots of dents.. but better than the crushed in original. Try working some of the dents with heat and apply pressure from the inside, I did that on my dime's door and didn't need to use any filler. 1 Quote Link to comment
Draker
Try working some of the dents with heat and apply pressure from the inside, I did that on my dime's door and didn't need to use any filler. There is pretty much no access to the inside of the rear doors. I have a stud welder so I pulled some of the dents that way. One dent is just fucked.. so I'll do what I can with it and then use some filler. 2 Quote Link to comment
Draker
Pulled the dents a bit. Will still need filler. Getting it prepped to put in epoxy. Maybe that will happen tomorrow evening. 3 Quote Link to comment
