nismosilvia
I got my hands on a parts car and have access to use my neighbors tow Dolly. Cars rwd and auto. Do I have to disconnect the drive shaft? The trips less than 20miles Quote Link to comment
Z-train
Yes.Or you'll roast the tranny. How complete is it? Quote Link to comment
DaBlist
...and don't get lazy and try towing it backwards. Having the heavy end of the car on the road and the light end on the dolly gets real exciting. 2 Quote Link to comment
I'm BLUE
You can un-bolt the driveshaft and tie up securely out of the way so you don't lose ATF. ( or just simply drain the trans and pull out the shaft as we all know ) ( motorcycle strap or ratchet-tie-down of some kind work well ) Or just get a flat-bed/u-haul auto-transport and be done with it all. Carry extra tie-downs/ratchet straps , fuses , a multi-meter , and magnetic trailer lights ( if you existing ones do not work ) Always test your trucks wiring harness connections.( even newer trucks can have some issues on he truck or trailer end of the harness ) Make sure the dolly tire straps arn't ripped or frayed badly ( have seen it at small time rental places ) Quote Link to comment

RedBanner
You can tow reverse without mishaps, if you can lock the steering wheel . Or start the car, put it in neutral and roll out. Quote Link to comment
