If you had the choice.....

Recommended Posts

Long story short, a favor is owed to me by a tire store owner. He has offered tires and installation in return for his debt. So now i have choices that are not limited by my bank account.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooo...............

If you had the choice what brand of tires would you run on an 18 in titan rim that's ending up on a 620 with a dual cam KA N/A?

EDIT - please post a link so i can research further :)

Goodyear Eagle GT (W-Speed Rated) I run these on my Colorado Xtreme, awesome all around tire and the grip/traction is excellent, especially in wet weather... I'm about to install my second set in the next week or so.

I guess it depends on what you are going to be doing in you truck...

My only input would be to stay away from uni-directional type tires cuz they have a tendency to howl almost like a wheel bearing going out...That doesn`t sound like a big deal but it will drive you fucking nuts overthinking whether or not your bearings are going out or not..

Perhaps, it all depends on what is considered stock I guess?

Here Bleach said a taller tire is stock: http://community.ratsun.net/topic/5051-stock-tire-sizes-for-620s/

optional/newer stock tires: 195 80R/14 = 26.2834" diameter

the tires you're looking at: 235 40R/18 = 25.4016" diameter

BTW:  I'm going by this thing (it seems to be pretty close) -> http://robrobinette.com/tire_dia

meter.htm

195/75/14 is stock.

And THIS site has a real good tire size calculator...

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

195/75/14 is 25.5" diameter, 235/40/18 is 25.4". Speedo would be off 0.4%. Reading of 60mph would actually be 59.7... big WHOOP!
