Eagle_Adam
So I sat and stared at it for a half hour or so Got acquainted, took in what looks to be needed for a smog delete, and power steering delete I need a good FSM that covers the DE motors well. Suggestions? Maybe a link to a PDF :) Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
I also got this header in the deal I have yet to be able to determine if it will work with my swap or if I need to buy an exhaust manifold too Quote Link to comment
yello620
I need a good FSM that covers the DE motors well. Suggestions? Maybe a link to a PDF :) There is a link to Nissan FSM PDF's in the "How to wire a SR----into anything thread". I posted it a few years ago, yet have no idea if the link still works. Edit: here is the page.Jeff has edited the FSM link into the very first post now. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/537-how-to-wire-a-ka-ca-sr-and-vg-into-anything/ What the heck, doesn't hurt to spread this FSM link around the forum, maybe people will look at it. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/ 1 Quote Link to comment

Janksun
Hey let me know how/if that header works out for you. I just picked up a $400 ka24de with 5 speed, has everything but I like the look of a header instead of a stock manifold. Going to be putting it in a 620 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
i dont yet, i noticed your comment about a local 4x4 shop doing it, was gunna look into that :D thanx for your help No problem, let me know if you have any other questions :) I was gonna post the same FSM link  1 Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
No problem, let me know if you have any other questions :) well....... i have one burning question i cant pin an answer down to can i use the 240sx header in the 620? I looks like the Lseries long tube header needed to clear the torsion bars cus if i cant i need to start sourcing an exhaust mani Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
I also got this header in the deal i have read that if you remove the O2 sensor and put it in the old EGR port you can still run the O@ and it clears the steering box but ive yet to see a pic of one installed so who knows Quote Link to comment
Janksun
I did a little search for headers Ina KA in a 620 and I found this http://community.ratsun.net/topic/57020-620-with-ka24de-exhaust-options/ Quote Link to comment

I think it will just wanna be able to cross that off my list Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
There is a ton of room on the drivers side. As long as the tubes go straight down I don't see it being a big issue. Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
thats a TON of clearance!!!! good nuff for me, ill wait till the test fit to decide if i need a normal exhaust mani thanx Redeye :D Quote Link to comment

Eagle_Adam
now...... to figure out my transmission situation apparently the KA trans has a speed sensor and not a spot for the speedo cable.... off to read some more Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
well......... its all or nothing this time guys! Here she is 79 620 King Cab Ill be picking her up sunday! I know very little as of yet, L20 auto tragic "ran when parked" sat for 2 yrs in a garage some rust but nothing too serious FUCKING FUCKING FUCK!!!! DAMNIT! The KC i drove 200 miles to pick up is a rust bucket, I'm bringing it home anyway for parts......... The hunt goes on :/ here it is the floors are shot, its taken an impact in the rear(lolz, nohomo), and the wiring is toast BUT its got an A87, L18, weber, and a 4 speed so its workable I have a parts 74 620, so all is well heres what i have, got in around 1:30, truck didnt wanna start this morning and i was late to work so i wont be on much today Its got a factory tach, and intermittent wipers!!!!! Then headed to Nismodr's house to tear down the rusty KC in prep for the scrapper tomorrow I just can't win..... Came around a corner to get on I5 and the breaks let out for a sec.... And ya, well Rear disc break brackets the only flaw in the dash pad a little disappointed the bed fenders are crunched BAM!!! And, I traded off my old KC to GreaseMonkey in trade for a bunch of welding and some cash. He's gunna fix it up with his kid, and his kid will DD it :) Operation SU swap is underway! KA620KC
Sorry! Just got home from work. Here's a couple of shots. Again these are just some cheap $75 Ebay headers too. I didn't have any fitment issues either. I tried long tube headers but with out having to remove the torsion bar they weren't gonna fit so I used thes shorty's instead. This is looking down from the firewall. Looks are deceiving here, there's a ton of room between the fire wall and flange This is looking through the fender well. Another shot looking down. KA620KC
I think I may have miss informed you guys. I'm not using a true 4-2-1 header like I thought It was originally. I DID have a long tube 4-2-1 from Hot shot headers but found that they WILL NOT clear the torsion bars without removing them. I am using shorty headers. Sorry for any confusion!! KA620KC
now...... to figure out my transmission situation apparently the KA trans has a speed sensor and not a spot for the speedo cable.... off to read some more I pulled out my speed sensor and replaced it with the cable driven speedo. Fits perfectly too. Speedo kinda jumps just a little, but that could be because its the original cable still. Quote Link to comment

Speedo kinda jumps just a little, but that could be because its the original cable still. sounds about like what wildmaninid and Datzenmike were telling me about! should be simple enough! that also means i can run the KA trans and keep the Lseries 5speed for something else!!! Alot of work. Been a awesome thread. I've read it 2 or 3 times now sweet! thanx for tuning in! Can't wait to see how far it goes :D me neither...... i keep having dreams of boost.... and then waking up and i have to tell myself not this time around but then i got this wonderfully horrible idea.... drop this KA in, the rebuild the other DE i have for boost, and do another swap.... 1 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Frank keeps trying to get me to boost mine. 1 Quote Link to comment
