Scurrvy
Okay, I am getting my truck fixed finally. I was wondering if anyone knows if they make a quick release steering hub for these, or if the ones form a 240 will with? Also, if I get the 2" drop spindles can I still use the torsion bars method along with that? And last, if I can get my hands on a inst cluster with a tach do I have to buy anything else for the tach to work? Quote Link to comment
DREWSDIME
Yes they make quick release for 720, I have a Grant quick release and lock you can get at Pep Boys. Not sure if one from a 240SX (I assume) will work it might. Yes you can lower your torsions if you get drop spindles If you get cluster with tach you dont need anything else the plug is already in your dash. You can also just buy a tach and the clock and install on your cluster. I might have an extra tach if you are interested? Quote Link to comment
Scurrvy
How much are you wanting for the tach? Quote Link to comment
Kyle84
Ive been told you also need the resistor that plugs in under the hood for the tach... which is what im getting. just fyi. :) Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yup. On the later trucks the resister may already be there just tapped up in the harness (looks like a small blob of tape) behind the left headlights near the two coils. It's often cheaper to include the resisters rather than to have harnesses WITH and WITHOUT on the factory floor. Quote Link to comment
_chiefjt
Is there any chance those resistors go bad because my tach is off by 300-400 rpms. I had it set at 900 rpms before smogging it and when the guy hooked it up to check the rpms it was at 500-550 rpms. So I cranked it up to 800-850 rpms and my tach shows 1000-1100 rpms Quote Link to comment
DREWSDIME
What does the resister plug into? Quote Link to comment
Scurrvy
thinking about seeing if these fit.. http://mywheeladapters.com/6x55-6x1397-Hub-to-5x45-5x1143-Wheel-2-Rim-Adapters-Wheel-2pc-2-Spacer-P2686531.aspx depending on how far out the front hub comes out. Quote Link to comment
