maltese
Thanks, DTP! The car is running slightly cooler. I'm going to pull the radiator, and send it out. Also going to try another temp gauge, just to see if I get a different reading. No telling if my 40 year old gauge is accurate. I don't mind refreshing/upgrading the cooling system, anyhow. Pics of the new fan... Quote Link to comment
maltese
Picked up this little guy... Gonna install it tomorrow. Also going to switch to stock calipers in front, rather than the Toyota's. Hopefully the brakes will be more balanced. Quote Link to comment
maltese
FutoFab alternator strut installed... Got the new front calipers installed. Seem to work well. I can still lock up the fronts, but more intentionally... Quote Link to comment
72240z
No matter what calipers you use your going to lock the front if you slam on the brakes. I think the yota fronts with hawk pads in the rear is a much better solution. Quote Link to comment
maltese
Thanks for your feedback. I don't want to try all the different combinations myself, since there are guys that have already found the answers for me, through their experience. Part of the reason I chose to go this route, is because of the tires I'm running. They don't really grip that well, compared to other tires I've used. I might go to more aggressive brakes, on my next set of tires. For now, this was inexpensive, compared to buying a different set of tires. Definitely wanted to address the braking issue before the wet weather comes back. Quote Link to comment
maltese
Got a new windshield installed. My glass guy is going to replace the rear glass seal, too. Didn't have enough time to do both at once. Nice to have a crack/scratch fee view of the road ahead! Quote Link to comment
72240z
Its soooooo nice to have a clear windshield. I have actually never owned an s30 with one lol. I have friends with new screens though and when I get into their cars its like wow... Quote Link to comment
maltese
Yeah, it's so much nicer to drive. The original glass had a scratch directly in front of the driver, from a bad wiper blade, and a crack top to bottom, on the passenger side. I was relieved to see minimal signs of rust under the seal, too. The orange paint underneath still looked great. Quote Link to comment
maltese
Picked up some Hella H4 light housings. Installed them last night. Gonna see how well the regular bulbs work, tonight. Then I'm going to switch the bulbs to these, 'Yellow Stars', and see which I like better... Quote Link to comment
72240z
Throw/cut off pics pleassssssse :-) Quote Link to comment
maltese
Low beams... High beams... They are definitely better than the sealed beams. Now I'm anxious to try the other bulbs. Will put up some more pics with them, tomorrow. Quote Link to comment
maltese
Oh, and I need to make some adjustments on both sides... Quote Link to comment
72240z
That doesnt look too bad at all, once you align them I bet they will be great. Which hella's are they? I want to google some more cut off pics Quote Link to comment

Alec 720
Amazing how little it took to make that car look so nice. Quote Link to comment
maltese
Thanks, Alec! It's been a fun project. Installed the yellow bulbs. They're just yellow enough, to make a difference. I like 'em... Pics don't do them justice, though. Quote Link to comment
I'm BLUE
mmmmm new windshield ... I was going to have that done last month , and got distracted :-/ Keep it up Maltese ! Quote Link to comment
maltese
Thanks, Blue! Quote Link to comment
maltese
Snapped a pic with the high beams on. Still doesn't show the true color. They are more yellow than this... They light up the road great, at night. I'm very satisfied with the Hella bulbs. Especially at a fraction of the cost of PIAA's. Quote Link to comment
Homeboyx
Wow.. its like looking at my finished s30 project... which i havent started yet. Just out of curiousity, was this a legit oaint job or a at home diy? I have this exact same color on mine which i whipped up at home by using simple and cheap stuff from home depot. maltese
It's military paint. Pretty durable, and inexpensive. When I'm ready to do the bodywork it needs, I'll get serious about a nice paint job. For now, it looks good enough. Quote Link to comment
maltese
Got a couple pieces today. On my way to triples! I have a line on a matching 3rd carb and a Cannon manifold. Hope to gather all the pieces, sooner than later... 2 Quote Link to comment

I'm BLUE
Very cool maltese ! Those first (2) look very clean. You're going to love the Triple's ... the sound alone ... :hyper: 1 Quote Link to comment
maltese
They are extremely clean, and well taken care of. I know the last two owners personally. As far as the sound... I can't wait. My auto shop teacher (circa 1995) has a built L28 with triple Webers, in his '70 240Z. I remember riding shotgun at the autocross events, with an ear to ear grin, every time the pedal hit the floor. Going to build a motor similar to his, down the road. These carbs will be a step in the right direction! 1 Quote Link to comment
