Agent-Gambit
What would happen if I make my open u67 to a closed chamber u67?? Quote Link to comment
wayno
What would happen if I make my open u67 to a closed chamber u67?? It would be easier and cheaper to just buy a A87 closed chamber head. Quote Link to comment

wayno
I'm assuming both would work about the same?? I am not sure what you mean exactly, but the differance in HP between closed and open chamber is likely under 5hp, makes a differance at the track, but on the street??? As I said, it would be cheaper to buy what exists in this situation than to try and make it. If you leave the U67 head as it is and use differant pistons, you can likely get the same results. Making a U67 into a closed chamber would be a big deal, as every chamber would need to be exactly the same, otherwise it would/might not run correctly. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
I'm assuming both would work about the same?? Well you would have to weld a U67 to make it a Closed Chamber. None of them were ever Closed from the factory. You can find Closed chamber A87 heads. Some have larger valves than others. And you may need to swap the cam to the L20 cam. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
What would happen if I make my open u67 to a closed chamber u67?? Assuming you make it exactly the same size as other closed chamber heads the compression would be 8.9 or about .5 of a point of compression more. About 2-3% power increase? Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
BUy a W53/A87 and hog out the intake. I seen them welded up and then have to be re machined to make sure flat on both sides. I think the cost is just to great unless you have a friend that can do this for cheap and as a experiment But if your good you could JB weld it for one lap around a oval track before it breaks apart Quote Link to comment
Z-train
Completely pointless. Quote Link to comment
