Ihatethenw
I got it! Why can't I just chop of the shaft in the ka dizzy? And out it in the cupler on the L dizzy and tig them together at the right length? Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
I got it! Why can't I just chop of the shaft in the ka dizzy? And out it in the cupler on the L dizzy and tig them together at the right length? I can't picture it exactly, but yes, that's the idea! Other members may have a better idea what you're talking about, but sometimes a hybrid distributor needs to be made. I used to take the tach drive Mallory distributors and put L-series single point stuff inside, just so it would look cool, have a tach drive, and use over the counter internals. You are headed down the right path with your new way of thinking. Quote Link to comment
FricFrac
I got it! Why can't I just chop of the shaft in the ka dizzy? And out it in the cupler on the L dizzy and tig them together at the right length? Good luck welding them together perfectly straight. I had a machinist cut and sleave my L28ET dizzy shaft to mate up to an Z24i dizzy to work on a Z22 timing cover.... http://community.ratsun.net/topic/48127-1969-datsun-510-2dr-z22-turbo-efi-build/?do=findComment&comment=786133 Quote Link to comment

hobbes_the_cat
So you are in a hurry to build this motor so you can turn around and sell it? I hope you at least take a vid of it running before it goes away. Quote Link to comment
Ihatethenw
When it blows it will be taken out and sr will be put in.. Plenty of drift videos to come... Pumpkin 210 building my dizzy should be fired this week Quote Link to comment

Ihatethenw
When I made the dizzy I used points and ground it so they opened like points and fired first turn so easy to do this set up! Cost a lot! But sounds amazing and rips hard and revs fast as hell Quote Link to comment
DAT510
Wow. Good job! Quote Link to comment
Ihatethenw
Thanks!! Does any one know what fuel presser webers run at so I can get the right fuel pump? Mines only at 2lbs.. Regulator is all the way out. Quote Link to comment
hobbes_the_cat
I'm pretty sure 3.5lb is the magic number. My side draft webers like 3-3.5 lbs. Quote Link to comment
Ihatethenw
Ok sweet Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Weber requires 2.5 to 3.0 lbs per Weber. But will often run OK at higher pressures, but they do not guarantee it. Quote Link to comment
Ihatethenw
So get a 7-9 lb pump and regulate it down? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Or use a 3.8 psi fuel pump and don't regulate it down. It'll work OK at 3.8 psi Or remove the regulator you have now, and perhaps the pressure will go back up to something in the range. Regulators are often the CAUSE of problems. Quote Link to comment
Ihatethenw
I was thinking that its a fancy one.. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Just don't use a cheap regulator. They restrict the fuel flow too much. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mrg-9710/overview/ Use a Holley type regulator that doesn't restric fuel flow. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hly-12-804/overview/ They are the same price. Ihatethenw
Mines a good one I paied like 100 fornit Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Your's is a good one for $100 which doesn't work (you said it would only output 2 lbs). To get the really good regulators you need to spend about $30. 1 Quote Link to comment
