DanielC
Those of you who have poked around in the 510 replacement panel thread have maybe noticed I have asked about the possibility of getting some replacement panels made for a 521. What panels would you like to see made for your 521? The obvious, Floor boards, especially the half in front of the seat. Fenders, especially the lower corner, by the cab. Rear inner fender brace/mount. Headlight bucket/mount on fender. Front lower apron. The panel just above the apron, that the park lamps bolt to. Rear bed corners. Right side inner fender/ battery tray. what else? Quote Link to comment

alabama_lowlife
Probably the part under the front bumper. Quote Link to comment
erichwaslike
Just to be clear, what are you guys calling the valence panel? Probably the part under the front bumper. yes. it unbolts from the edge of the fenders and it goes slightly behind the bumper and then down to the ground. its the lowest sheet metal piece in the front. Tucson620
yes. it unbolts from the edge of the fenders and it goes slightly behind the bumper and then down to the ground. its the lowest sheet metal piece in the front. It's the badly bent piece right under there! 1 Quote Link to comment

0.C.
I need to rip the carpet off my 521 to make templates of the floor pans. I'm pretty sure I can make them. The problem is how long it would take me to make a pan and the price since I want people to buy them at a fair price. How much would you guys feel comfortable paying for a floor pan made in the USA? Quote Link to comment
DanielC
It is hard to say what a comfortable price would be. There is also the issue of producing a floor that would be useable to a large number of people. I cannot speak for other people and their trucks, but I think one way to go is for me to take some pictures, and have you look at the pictuires, and maybe give an estimate on how much it would cost? 0.C.
It would be great if you can take some pictures from inside the cab and under the cab to see if there are any braces attached to the floor pans. For example the upper and lower floor pans of this truck took me about 3-4 hrs to make. That includes making the templates. so the next set would be about an hour less since I already have the templates. The running board took about 6-8 hours to make For the Ratsun people I would charge $50 per hour Quote Link to comment
DanielC
Here is a picture of the bottom of a 521 cab. Here is a picture of the right side floor. and here is the left side floor. Does that help? Quote Link to comment
0.C.
Thanks Daniel for the pictures. I think I could make the front section of the floor pan for $50- $80 a piece. If people are interested I can start making them after the holy days. Quote Link to comment

DanielC
Here is a handy webpage that gives you pictures, names, and part numbers of parts for 520, and 521 trucks. http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun520/Datsun520521Index/tabid/1350/Default.aspx Quote Link to comment
0.C.
Daniel, Can you please take closer picture of the area circled in yellow? Also would people want the brace circled in blue? Quote Link to comment
DanielC
I can do that, but give me a few days. The cab is in a stall in the back of a barn, and I need to get a tractor, in another barn, and put the forklift attachment on the tractor. But before that happens, I need to finish winterizing a boat that is in an normally empty stall in a carport close to the garage. How big do you want the pictures? 640x480, .3 Megapixels? 2560x1920 5 megapixels? 4000x3000 12 megapixels? Quote Link to comment
DanielC
This is how I move the cab around. To give you a better idea of what I am looking for I did some quick sketching on this picture. I started to make my own floor pieces, but I was not happy with the way it was coming out, and moved to something else. The red line is the original floor. It goes all the way to the back of the cab, even thought this picture does not. The blue circled pieces can also have enough rust damage on the bottom of them to make it difficult to have enough good metal to weld to. Even though this cab had the driveline bolts come loose, and damage the transmission tunnel, I think I do not need to replace the tunnel. I have only seem two floor rusted out 521 cabs up close. This cab may only need the floor ahead, and outside of the yellow line, and the two pieces circled in blue Quote Link to comment
raggmann
I'd be interested in a drivers side AND the support rib underneath. Quote Link to comment
0.C.
Daniel 5 megapixels is more than enough. I might have some extra time during Thanksgiving weekend to dig my truck out of the yard and start making some templates. The support brace might be a little pricey to make without stamping it. But I will take a look. Quote Link to comment
DanielC
Future pictures I will try to remember the 5 megapixel setting. I do not need the brace, as far as I know. The floors, I do want. Quote Link to comment
