Rustina 510
So draynor1995 has a master cylinder going out on his 510 wagon and brake flui is going onto the floor boards it's gettin so bad. We can locate a new master cylinder so... Will any other "easier to find" master cylinders work? Please help and thx Quote Link to comment
hobbes_the_cat
I have never tried but I have heard a early 200sx will work. I know a 280z one will fit, as i have one on my dime, but may be kinda firm for pedal feel as it is a bigger bore than stock. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yes for a stock system a larger diameter master is NOT and upgrade. It only makes working the brakes harder. What is the 510, a 3/4" master? I think the 710 is also 3/4". I put a later S110 (200sx) 13/16 (that's 1/16" larger) on my 710 and the peddle is noticeably firmer. It's ... ok but wouldn't want more. Draynor
what year 200 sx should we be looking for the master cylinder mike? and thx for the help... again Quote Link to comment
Draynor
1979-83 right Quote Link to comment
Rustina 510
Yeah 79-83 should be the one we are looking for, I think that's te s110 Quote Link to comment
hobbes_the_cat
I was thinking 77-79 200sx might fit. The stock 510 is a 3/4" master Quote Link to comment
Draynor
wasnt the s110 200sx 79-83? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The S10 '77-'79 200sx has a 3/4" master and so does the 610/710/B-210 and they share the same piston cup part number. This doesn't mean the master is exactly the same ... just 3/4" but likely to fit. The 620 is also 3/4" but the outlets are facing the fender and won't clear the strut tower on a car. Second gen 200sx is the S110 '80-'83 and they had 13/16" master '80-'81. The '82-'83 S110 used a 7/8" master Quote Link to comment

Ranman72
I put a 7/8 240z one in my 68 510 and I love it had to tweak the brake lines slightly to line up properly just be easy on the bends Quote Link to comment

Please help and thx Rock Auto has the correct master cylinder for pretty cheap, but I have and still use a 1978 Datsun 510 master cylinder in my 1969 race wagon. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yeah that's a 13/16" on the A10. You probably have larger calipers on it? Quote Link to comment
