KlassicMotion
I know a shop that can fab me some brackets, but I'm wondering if there is anyone producing these for less than what my shop can make them for? Quote Link to comment
I'm BLUE
.... how much does the shop sell them for ? Quote Link to comment
Skib
why not just get the maxima/200sx set up? already brackets made for those Quote Link to comment

KlassicMotion
".... how much does the shop sell them for?" They don't sell them, but they are a good fab shop and I'm sure they can make them. He built a resto mod racer '69 Camaro that made it into Hot Rod magazine. That's a pretty big accomplishment for someone living in Kansas! Popular magazines don't venture out to Kansas for big articles! LOL I just assumed if someone was making them already, they might be able to hammer them out cheaper and quicker. Quote Link to comment
KlassicMotion
why not just get the maxima/200sx set up? already brackets made for those I already have everything from a 1982 280zx. I also haven't seen many 200sx in Kansas for junk prices. Dime quarterly has an article with dimensions on how to make your own brackets for 280zx, I guess I'm just being lazy. I have 6 other projects that I'm trying to balance my time between. For me, time is more valuable than money. I can make more money, but time keeps flying bye. Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Theres dimensions in there? Hmmm maybe I can bust out some brackets at work... I should read DQ more often. Quote Link to comment
q-tip
tristin i have all of the dq issues -1 in volume 5 i think. i have the drawing for that braket Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Im designing a 3D model as we speak lol I found it in the DQ archives on Google Docs. Edit: WIP Theres actually very few dimensions on that drawing to make a proper piece so its a little harder than I thought. Plus Im new to SW so that doesnt really help. Quote Link to comment
The Dat-side
Tristin, I have some brackets someone made, he said they aren't they greatest. But I could take some measurements for you. I also have the calipers, just no spare rear arms for mocking. I'd be interested in some brackets if you make some that are better than this set. Quote Link to comment
Tristin
What are the brackets made for?- 280zx? What did he mean by not the greatest?- not the greatest quality material/craftmanship or not the greatest accuracy in dimensions? Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Not my best work... well since this is my first 3D model I guess technically it is my best work, but usually am much better at things in general like this. Im sure with better dimension on the drawing I could have come up with something nicer. Quote Link to comment
The Dat-side
What are the brackets made for?- 280zx? What did he mean by not the greatest?- not the greatest quality material/craftmanship or not the greatest accuracy in dimensions? Yeah for the 280zx brakes. They were his first brackets he'd made, he just said they weren't the best. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
I went down this same road. The dq drawings are insufficient. I made my own and modeled/machined a set. Check my build thread. -Josh Quote Link to comment
Skib
would these brackets fit the 710 rear axle too? think its the H165 axle? Quote Link to comment
Zeusimo
Not Sure I'm Gonna Measure On My 610 710 Is Same Anyways Right..? Quote Link to comment
Skib
Not Sure I'm Gonna Measure On My 610 710 Is Same Anyways Right..? 610 wagon maybe? 710s are solid axle, 610 sedans are IRS I dont really do a lot of solid axle stuff so idk a ton about all the specifics Quote Link to comment
KlassicMotion
Cool. If anyone comes up with a set, I will buy one. I'm not in a hurry, I need to sell the '65 Mustang before I can start on the 510. Quote Link to comment
jesusno2
Those are pics of my 280zx brackets for a wagon. Different animal to the sedan. they look similar but their different hole battern and their is a bearing spacer to lock the axles in. Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Those look far better than what I can create with DQs shit measurements. I'd love to make a run of those Josh. Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Drooling Looking over those brackets again, can you put nuts on those center two bolts? It doesn't look like there's enough room to thread anything on... Quote Link to comment
