SupDoc
dude.. ebay shopping is the best way to go for a radiator... I've bought several 100% aluminum radiators for different cars.. all of them have been on point, and cheap. i'm running one in my 510 right now. Like this one? Has anyone tried one of these? Hard to believe it would fit in the engine bay with a shroud. Maybe without the shroud it would work. Kind of pricey. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DATSUN-510-KA24DE-Swap-AL-Radiator-SHROUD-12-FAN-/170571252996?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27b6d6c504&vxp=mtr Quote Link to comment

Besides in the desciprtion it says you'll need to cut a portion of the frame and fabricate how it mounts to the car. I did a quick search and found a few for $100. http://www.ebay.com/itm/godspeed-89-90-91-92-93-94-s13-240sx-ka24-radiator-fan-/290851431638?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3A240SX&hash=item43b818a4d6&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/All-aluminum-radiator-For-Nissan-240SX-1989-1994-SR20-2ROW-inlet-outlet-35mm-/290854794241?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43b84bf401&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/DUAL-CORE-2-ROW-FULL-ALUMINUM-RACING-RADIATOR-95-98-NISSAN-240SX-S14-SR20-DET-SR-/400400375363?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3A240SX&hash=item5d39b8de43&vxp=mtr or you could go with OEM and save a lot of money (like I'm doing) http://www.ebay.com/itm/1989-1990-NISSAN-240-SX-RADIATOR-2-4L-4-CYL-MANUAL-5-SP-/150656515216?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3A240SX&hash=item2313d3fc90&vxp=mtr Quote Link to comment
cjzeppy
Still in search of 2" shaft collars. Right now I'm working on modifying the 280zx struts to accommodate the coil over sleeves. Quote Link to comment
cjzeppy
Finished product, and only spent $250 making them. Quote Link to comment
Draker
$250, that's it? Man.. where did I go wrong.. lol They look nice man! Did you shorten them? What inserts did you use? Quote Link to comment
cjzeppy
Thanks Draker. I didn't shorten them, but instead raised the cartridges using washers. They are '92 MR2 cartridges. Quote Link to comment
cjzeppy
After three months of hibernation she is finally out of the garage. I had to move her out so I could work on the engine and mate it to the trans. Also need to see if the engine crossmember will bolt up to the engine mounts. Quote Link to comment

cjzeppy
Picked up new wheels and tires for the dime. Found a craigslist add for 14" 200sx wheels with brand new tires. Now my 280zx brakes can get installed without having an issue of wheel fitment. Quote Link to comment

qwik510
I'm hoping to have the car ready in time for the Carlisle Performance and Styling car show in May. So you plan to go to the Carlisle show instead of the 17th annual East Coast Datsun 510 Meet? They are on the same weekend. Quote Link to comment

cjzeppy
Been on a hiatus this week. I was having issues with my daily, so now I'm back in the garage working on the dime. Started fabricating the engine crossmember, and drilling out the holes for the 280zx coilovers. Still waiting for my trans crossmember to arrive. My goal is to have a rolling chassis ready for the engine and trans to drop in by next weekend. Quote Link to comment
cjzeppy
I was bored this evening, so I decided to make a version of my car on Forza 4. Looks pretty realistic with the rust, primer spots, and gas door. lol Quote Link to comment

cjzeppy
Accomplished a lot this weekend towards getting my car back on all four wheels. Saturday started out rough. I jacked up the rear end to change out the rear wheels, and the front decided to fall off the jack stands. I do like the look of a Datsun slammed on the ground.... After I got the car back on it's jack stands I got to work on drilling out the holes on my cambe plates. One fits perfectly and the other needs a little bit of "persuasion" to fit. My coilovers are 99% completed, and the only thing I', waiting for is a set of 280zx hubs. I'm hoping to weld the engine crossmember at work this week, so I can start reassemble the front suspension and brakes. I also received my Ratsun wrenches decal this weekend. Now she's official! :D Quote Link to comment
cjzeppy
finished welding my engine crossmember. Debating whether to have it sandblasted and powdercoated. Quote Link to comment
cjzeppy
Finally found my way back to the garage. Test fit the newly welded engine crossmember to the engine mounts. The mounts are a little tight, but after some pushing and shoving the bolt holes lined up. Hoping to sandblast and paint the crossmember this week or next so everything can go back together. Had some trouble finding the right bolts and nuts. It's been a while since I last removed it. lol Finally have the precious clearance needed for the oil pan. Quote Link to comment
cjzeppy
small update. Finally sandblasted the cross member. Going to paint it tomorrow after work, and then start to install the front suspension. Still looking for a 280zx hub if anyone has one. At this point I don't care if it's from another country I just need a hub that isn't bent. Quote Link to comment
cjzeppy
I FINALLY FOUND A 280ZX HUB! Quote Link to comment
cjzeppy
Installed the hub to the strut assembly, and then realize that I wanted to replace the lower ball joints, along with replace the missing wheel bearing in the other hub. Luckily AutoZone had everything available, and tomorrow morning I should have the ball joints. Hoping to drop the motor and trans in this weekend. Quote Link to comment
cjzeppy
Been busy in the garage. Last Friday I assembled all the new parts, and Saturday night I had the car on all four wheels. Sunday wasn't the best day, but by the end of the day the engine was in the car. I was stuck on the steering linkage and the engine would not move any further back. So after two days of hammering, bruising my fingers, and a lot of swearing the linkage broke free! Currently the engine is in place, but the transmission is not. The tail shaft is hitting the top of the transmission tunnel, so tomorrow after work I might grab the saw and cut a portion of the tunnel out for more clearance. Also may have to cut a piece of the battery tray so the throttle body will clear as well. All in all I'm tired, frustrated, and ready to quit. But I feel like this is how most project cars are, so I'm satisfied with the progress. Here's some pictures! Quote Link to comment
