Guest Rick-rat
Bad news I called the park about July 21 being a free admission day to be sure. It is not. We can still go around the mountain, just can't go into the park without paying the 15.00 for each car. We could do this or maybe a cruise to somewhere else, Ocean Shores? Any suggestions? Let me know what you all think or just bag the idea of the mountain or any kind of cruise. Sorry for the bad info for that date. I still have the dogs and buns to cook, just need a new place to do it I saw that it was free for that day back in April, and was trying to find it to verify it, glad I called and checked would be a bummer to go all the way there and get the bad news So sorry about my mistake, really wanted to go Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
This site says it's free on Public Lands Day (Sept 29) http://www.visitrainier.com/pg/event/152/Free-Entrance-Days-in-Mt.-Rainier-National-Park Why about a drive around the Olympic Penninsula? Quote Link to comment
Guest Rick-rat
Labor day weekend in Sept. I don' really care where we cruise too Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Let's keep the July 21 date for a cruise. Quote Link to comment
Guest Rick-rat
OK with me, just need to figure out where to go Quote Link to comment
Tristin
So one week until the cruise... What's the plan guys? Quote Link to comment
q-tip
What do you guys think of driving 101 around the peninsula. Quote Link to comment
Guest Rick-rat
That would work for me Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Won't the penninsula loop be crowded and slow with RVs? Perhaps we should drive to Graham and then to the Sonic on South Hill? And back around to Tacoma. Quote Link to comment
Guest Rick-rat
It wouldn't be too bad on a saturday, most of the RV's are where they want to go by then Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
My brother, FAT510 and I will go wherever you guys decide ...Long drive,, short drive......drive,drive,drive. B) (edit) If you decide to do the peninsula loop ....we are no way going to wait for qtip to take the twilight vampire tour...I mean it ...we will leave you there.. Quote Link to comment
Tristin
But you get your picture taken with Edward and Jacob cutouts!!!! I'm down to drive wherever... I only require someplace good we can all eat together. Pen loop would be fun. Quote Link to comment
DatWifey
What time would the initial rally point be for this? Brody is working swings all week, and won't be getting home until around 1:30 on Saturday morning. And trying to get any real sleep in that truck is next to impossible with how uncomfortable that bench seat is. Quote Link to comment
Guest Rick-rat
How about this, cruise up across the hood canal bridge towards Port Townsend, stop at Fat Smitty"s for a burger, then cruise down Hood Canal along the water towards Shelton. We could leave at about 10 AM from Gig Harbor. If you don't want to have a burger I will have my small BBQ and there is a park in Quilicene we could stop to eat at. If Fat Smitty's it is cash only, If hot dogs I will have them Quote Link to comment
Tristin
I'm down for Fat Smittys... That would be a sweet cruise. People on the Seattle side can take the ferry into Kingston or Bainbridge. Fat Smitties is cash only, but they have an ATM in the back. Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
Where abouts in Giggity harbor ..We might meet you in der Gorst but my brother would be coming from Auburn ,,,blah blah blah I dont know.. But we are going Datwifee ...Where do you and Brodsterific live now..?? Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Gig Harbor is just north of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge; you'd pass it if going to Gorst. Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
IN not IS But it would have been funnier if you put..." but that`s not important right now " after it.. :D Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
We might not go the freeway..well not a real freeway anyways , and go up through Shitland and Allyn and that bussiness..But not sure brother will want to come all the ways here then go back....He has no cell phone so i have to really coordinate before hand.. I said Gorst but wherever really... Maybe if i can get Capt. Ragequit to roll with us ,, we could meet up on a off ramp in Bremerton ( automall??) Actual customer pictures off YELP ..Fatty Smittys Quote Link to comment
DatWifey
Datwifee ...Where do you and Brodsterific live now..?? We are currently living in a motel in Mountlake Terrace (pretty much at the county line of King & Snohomish counties. I'm going to tell Brody that Fat Smittys is in the plans..... it will make him want to go  Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Bremerton could work... He could take the ferry across into Bremerton and meet up near the freeway; maybe the Casino parking lot... Plenty of space. There's only a few of us north of Brem so I don't think it would be a bid hassle to backtrack to go back north. Quote Link to comment
Guest Rick-rat
Gorst or the auto mall works,, In Gig Harbor at Target, Borgen boulevard, 4th exit after you get off the bridge. Tristin, how about we meet you and anyone else in that area at the Silverdale Mall, just don't be trolling for Silverwhales while you wait 1 Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Haha I like to call them Silverbacks... Or Bremeloes. What time is everyone meeting up? Once a time is established, I say everyone in Kitsap meets in front of Barnes and Noble. Quote Link to comment
Guest Rick-rat
I will be leaving the Gig Harbor Target at 10 AM Quote Link to comment
