wayno
This could be bad for Mike, could give him to many ideas, and he will get side tracked. Quote Link to comment
fuzz's '71 510
As cheap as I got them, I figured I could make some just like it or just throw it on the car and say screw it. Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
LOL!! haha wayne! :) Those are beautiful!!! I'm curious who made them too. Way out of my league! Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Are they aluminum? Maybe Juan/Krecs? What is the application? Quote Link to comment
fuzz's '71 510
Yes, they are aluminum and they were done very well. I also believe they were clear anodized, as far as the application that's where it gets lost. Here's is the description: UP FOR PURCHASE IS A SET OF DATSUN 240Z 260Z 280Z REAR DISC CONVERSION BRACKETS These conversion brackets are for upgrading your 240Z, 260Z, or 280Z to rear disc brakes and are CNC milled from 6061T-6 Aluminum. This is a direct bolt-on setup, requiring no modification of the vehicle, except that the backing plates and rear drum hardware must be removed. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. I had heard that they would also work on a 510, but I don't know for sure and don't really know what calipers are going to be used. Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
The seller didn't say what calipers those were made for? Maybe Maxima clappers with the spring e-brake? They look good. Quote Link to comment

There not out of your league, you just have not thought about making them this way yet, that's why I said it could get you sidetracked. I can see it now, you spending 5 minutes at each vehicle in the wrecking yard, trying to figure out if that caliper will work for your prettier bracket, I would look at how many cars are left to look at, shake my head mumbling something about so many cars, and thinking how many new ones might be out there tomarrow, and then realize there are 4 more wrecking yards other than this one.   Quote Link to comment
fuzz's '71 510
Waiting on an email back from the seller to let me know which calipers to use, we'll see what happens then. Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
It would be a fun CAD exercise, but I just don't go to the s/y any more unless I have to. Too much grease and dirt! :) Quote Link to comment

Z chopper
you're welcome fuzz and the thing about that link it tells you all the parts you need to source rear 82-83 280ZX brake rotors rear calipers from an 85-87 Nissan Maxima (front wheel drive) Quote Link to comment
