NICKLE&DIME
How much hacking did you have to do for the camber plates? Quote Link to comment
jrock4224
radiator is a nice piece in relation to the core support its perfect... as far as in relation to the engine we will find out tis weekend suppose to be stabbing the l18/5sop. in this weekend... the camber plates took a little work instead of trimming out necessary hans decided to enlrge the whole hole...looks clean i like a little more mounting meat for mine..wagon is gettnig t3 stuff and i will trim out whats needed not enlarge the hole.. yeah i love it on the hubcaps but it wont roll out front with out some real spacing... was gona try and run them on my wagon for abit but looking like i need stud extenders to get them rolling the ermish stuff is real nice ...but my wagon ison a super budget...i will be buying his steering set up for my goon though... do have one question.....if i run this ermish steering set up then i won't need bump steer spacers right?.... and do bump steer spacers raise your car... jrock4224
ok while waiting for bondo to dry helped hans get the motor in his car... and the crank triggered ignition... and this is Piper Lee Mason( han's fresh daughter...two weeks old..)...obviously not the optimum riding position.. rear end half assembled Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
LOVE IT!!!!!! cool wagon also. on the crank fire is the oil pump spindal supported up top to keep it from wiggling around????????where the lower housing was? Quote Link to comment
hacked521
looking awesome! beautiful paint on that 2 door. where did you get the crank trigger pulley wheel? Quote Link to comment
jrock4224
back to south paw.... rear suspension finally in i think since limp mode was only to donate the wheels so south could run....still waiting on 16" rotas from troy ermish anyone else have this issue...not that there needed yet, but its been month's, like more than 4... he has been kool about it staying in contact..and answering calls and dumb questions about other shit we were stumped on.. ... but there not custom offsets nor much else.. shit han's would take any color at this point..we were gonna change that anyway... if i remember correct they were order they day this thread started or with in that week cause the suspension was showing up... as far the dist shaft it sits pretty tightin there and didnt look like it would move much...but i was not there when he put the cover on.. the gear was in the kit and the pulley was machined to have a lip at the i/d and then was welded..turned out perfect...had to make the mount for the trigger...was pretty easy after the machining actually but neither of us know shit about shat so it will be a work in progress..we are pretty sure the crank pulley is right by the instructions...but we got extra pulleys kicking around so we can make another ...but the gear is specific Quote Link to comment
jrock4224
Wheels arrived...hans is debating if they stay silver...both black and the gold on the struts has been bantered about....but leaving the lip brushed... Strut tower bar.. Aluminum radiator... fits good gonna have to run pusher fans ...not much room here... So thinking after tires are on, may need a little dialing in, on a diff spacer....this is as close to a strut as i have ever seen personally...i dont know what ofset nor spacer is on here... 1 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
I cant believe you bought such Crappy Rims. You got no style. Your not cool. I thought you was better than that. be ORIGANAL Period correct ect... With my set up I have +25mm with 510 struts. I had my T3 spring perch welded in the stock location for just this thing. I was worried about the tire hitting. Also after talking to ICEHOUSE he said get the 7inch spring(instead of the common 8 inch tall) which I did and i have that to the bottom to get the look i want. Lower in front than the back. Also if you do have +25mm you cant run the spcers under the strut as +25 the steering arm will hit the rim. or very close to it so ck carefully. If these are 280zx struts then I assume these are +12 or is it +15mm. People usually can run 0 deg wjeel and the strut tube threads will not be in the way and you can lower the perch and wont hit the tire plus 280zx w/0 deg will still pull the tire/rim in enough were you might not have to roll the fenders. On my set up I run 195/45/15 nexens as thats all I could find at a good price from Tires -EZ.com tHink it was 55$ a tire. The fronts are pretty flush and close but since the tite will angle away it still might work. Just make sure no inner rim wheel weights are used. The rears you could go with 205 on the same brand. But I notice on 205s different brands can actually very alot and not make it look right. Ichiba.com makes a 4 or 5mm spacer if needed so you still have alot of threads to bolt the lugs on. But remember YOUR NOT COOL buying these wheels. You could have found some junkwheels (that should have been RECYCLED) in back of a house that are to big and make it fit with some Vice Grips and pull those fenders lips out then bondo it smooth Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
If they made Gold anodized that woiuld be the SHIT! ok just reread everything you got 16 which I think come in +22 as one offset as troy has on his girlfriends car or that Was FJwagoons girlfriend Quote Link to comment
jrock4224
I know... there so ghey.....i i tried to tell him they were gross and go with some artillery wheels with custom offsets...they came from troy and i wasn't part of the offset discussion... i just wanna try them on my wagon once it reaches it final height...and see if i can run a 16 i know the offset will be wrong but i have my heart set on a certain 15" wheels...but wouldn't mind copying green goons style...Han's keeps saying the gold like on his struts but its kinda blah..... they have a couple cool gold candies but i think they ae staying silver this summer ...Im sure they will end up many diff color centers... i like the idea of flat white ....but he doensn't ... jrock4224
hainz, him and I, we talked about that this morning, my t3s came with 7 springs... we both are running shortened 280z struts.....hes running 16's i will be running 15's on the goon...i forgot to look a the back of the wheel and get the offset...we are debating tire sizes for his 16's... was thinking maybe a little stagger .....size bigger on the rear ... any suggestions...... im a mini trucker so the goon will just have the shortest tires available...maybe staggered we will see Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
IM not a expert on 16s. and it was Clayton's(FJwagon is what he goes by i think) girlfriend's green 510 that had 16 on there but I think they were 510 struts up front if remeber right, ask I would just go by What Troy says I think they make a 40 and 45 series in a 16inch tire. for the wagon? it just depends on the struts you going to run. 15inch ROTA RBs Here is just a thought its not set in stone. 280zx I think you can run +12or +15 and not hit the strut but depends on the threaded collar set up. Kinda like what you have photos of already. Or you can run Zero offset up front and run a 195 series tire.As the 280zx is 3/4 IN pulled in more. Now the Rears you dont need as much offset to fill it in. +25mm will work ,run a 205 pretty EZ +15mm will work, maybe run a 205 depending on brand or 45/50 series O is cutting it very close. Maybe need to roll. be honest My first set of panasports I got off a 810 and were too big looked like zero offset and sold them next set of pansports I fit them on the car before I bought them. The 1st ROTA RBs I got a guy in Norway had some +25mm with nittos 195 and show photos so on that basis I got them. Got Lucky I guess. Just the strut spacer had to be pulled out. datto510(Eric) got some gunmetal +20s and they fit perfect. I never saw a listing for +20s but I looked on back of the rim and they were 20mm offset. Which really would have been better for me so I could have my (bumpsteerspacers)installed. My A arms are really angled up alot Dont know if this helps When I had my Panasports I think I had soem Dunlopes on there and looked fine. 195 front and I swear was a 205 in back. But tires wore out and I got a set of FREE Pirelli P4s 205sit looked like a DONK on the back. Quote Link to comment
