78dattysun
How important is it to use a syncing tool when syncing dual 44phh mikuni carbs, or is it possible without one? Im guessing no. but I wanted to ask somebody else. Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
I'd say it's pretty important. You want your car to run consistent right? There may be a trick to tuning it without one though, and just using a single vacuum gauge. I read about it a while back when I was wanting to use ITB's Quote Link to comment
Sealik
2 vacuum gauges on mani, 1 for each carb...if you have the ports of course Maybe.... :D Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Not using a uni-sync is like dividing by zero. You're fucked without it. Just kidding. I would imagine that it is way more accurate than tuning by ear and smell. I would also believe, short of having a 5-wire wideband AFR guage, that a unisync is the definitive way. Anything else, and you're just guessing. ;) Quote Link to comment
Sealik
You can use the uni-syn, listen with a hose or... the vacuum gauges...basically measuring the amount of air getting sucked into the engine, relative to each carb, which has to be the same Then use the wide band to dial the mixture in Quote Link to comment
Elkie
It'll run, but most likely idle horribly, and have a loss in power. Quote Link to comment
Draker
I've got a set of these. Don't know if they will work for you or not. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
All the uni-syn does is help to adjust the idle air volume so that multiple carbs are drawing the same amount of air. Otherwise two cylinders are holding the idle and two are not doing enough work. You can do the same with a piece of garden hose held at the throttle opening. Adjust till the hiss sound is the same. Elkie
I have those synch's as well draker for my cb550's, I'd recommend spending the extra $50 for a decent one. Quote Link to comment

Hardwyre
How important is checking the prostitute for an adam's apple before you turn off the lights? PRETTY FUCKING IMPORTANT. You can always get away without doing something; but not doing so may result in some uncomfortable situations. Quote Link to comment
