What do you guys think about this truck?

I saw this for sale.. I was thinking about going to take a look at it. Without me telling you what he's asking... what would you pay? It looks clean to me. Some surface rust but other then that, looks clean.

 

 

 

1984 Nissan king cab, long bed pickup for sale. Recently rebuilt engine (about 35k on engine, about 175k on chassis), 5-speed manual. Runs and drives very well. Title clean, current, and in-hand.

 

The bad (let's get it out of the way first):

Peeling clear coat and rust spots on hood and roof

Will need front brakes adjusted or replaced soon, but not urgent

Not really much else, other than a couple of "personality" things that don't affect functioning and you'll have to see to appreciate :)

 

The good:

Body clean and straight (other than hood and roof), and interior is good. It's actually a good-looking little truck!

Canopy included and installed

Pop-up sunroof that doesn't leak

Good mpg (21-23 consistently) for a truck

How much is he askin for it? The rust is totally fixable, find out more info on the brakes but as long as he isn't asking to much for it I would say get it

Front brakes can't be adjusted but the pads and/or rotors can be replaced. Gas mileage is about right.

Yeah, didn't figure there was any sort of adjustment on a caliper. No big deal.. he said they pulse. Easy fix.

I saw one go locally in the same condition go for $700 recently a few months ago I saw another go for $500 and it was in better condition

Check the cab mounts under the front wheel well, look underneath, see if you can see any carpet. Other than that, looks clean, still not worth more than about $700.
