Rustina 510
So I got some new wheels and want to show them off a little bit. The front stick out about 3/4 inch, some thinner tires will fix that but I'm running low on funds tell next payday. I love the way they look Thanks for all your help guys!!!! Quote Link to comment
Rustina 510
And I took her on the freeway this morning and all those wobbles are totally gone!!!! The coilovers and way better tires fixed everything. Just need a alignment and it's perfect. Plus my new full front end bushing kit came in the mail along with new balljoints, inner and outer tie rods. She will drive real nice once I get all that on Quote Link to comment

izzo
Hahhahahaha.... Shit looks good man I adjusted the driver side rear brake, passenger side needs it. E-Brake is froze, not sure whats up, never investigated. You need a windshield wiper on the passenger side man ;) Shits lookin pimp. BTW, the linkage i think is fucked unless you get a bushing for it or find another linkage (the part that bolts to the firewall). Basically, its too sloppy and the linkage flops around. It needs a bushing in there or to be replaced. I pulled it apart, cleaned it, and put some new grease in there. Still didn't work. Thats why the bigass springs are on there - Otherwise it wouldn't return, it would just stay open throttle. Quote Link to comment
hobbes_the_cat
convert the front end to 280zx struts and it will pull those wheels in about 3/4" ;). you going to stay with the stock green? Quote Link to comment
izzo
Stock color is actually an off white color. Owner painted it that green back in 1994 Quote Link to comment
Rustina 510
I'm not sure what color it will be, mostly focused on drivability Quote Link to comment
Rustina 510
And I have a nice coilover kit on the front that I would rather keep, I'll just get some diff tires once I get paid again. I kind of like the ratty paint and primer Quote Link to comment

Cuz you can use the Sleeve coilovers on zx struts,I've got Ground Control coilover sleeves on 200sx struts Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
My opinion is that even with skinnier tires they will still stick out because of wheel size, the only way to pull them in IMO is what Hobbes mentioned. But run it like you got it ,, have some fun with it ((( NOW)))). And get that alignment very soon after you install new parts you are putting on. ...There`s nothing wrong with a little tire poke. And the car looks a ton better than when i first towed it home..... Rustina 510
Thx dude, yeah the tow is off but it's drivable for a couple days, we dropped the rear end a little too and it rides alot better. She still sputters a little and it driving me crazy!!!! Quote Link to comment

Rustina 510
Oh ok cool. Will it lower it even more? Will it soften the ride a little, she is pretty stiff up front now Quote Link to comment
Guest kamakazi620
Oh ok cool. Will it lower it even more? Will it soften the ride a little, she is pretty stiff up front now only if you move the spring mount lower and use a lighter spring rate.ask james whats springrates those springs are Quote Link to comment
Rustina 510
They are 400 Quote Link to comment
The Dat-side
400 is pretty stiff. I drove a VG 510 with (I think) 275# springs. It was about perfect. And yeah, get ZX struts. Quote Link to comment
hobbes_the_cat
I have 200# springs in the front and a L18 and I like how it rides on the street. Firm, but won't shake your filling loose on bumps. the only extra cost of swapping to 280zx struts would be the struts/brakes and inserts as the stock 510 length insert is too long to fit in the zx tube. greengoon
I like the wheels a lot. Love the mesh and the black looks great. Moar lowar and it will be perfect. Quote Link to comment
