datzenmike
I have a L16 triple S motor and was wondering if it wasworth rebuilding or should I just plan on a KA24DE swap? Nothing wrong with the SSS motor but a KA will trump it in every way. A vintage racer may want the L16. To be an L16SSS it must have dual Hitachi SUs, flattop pistons and a 219 head. flatcat19
Yep. Go KA, and hand the carbs off to FlatCat. :D Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Carbs, Pffft. Get the 219 head..... (and the carbs) Quote Link to comment

Will
...I'll be rebuilding a L16SSS for my car over the winter break from school. I suppose it all depends on what you're after. I don't mind being slow, and I think that the SSS engine looks great. Plus you won't need to worry about engine swap stuff, and the gas mileage is very good. Quote Link to comment
ZackTheImpaler
Sounds like you know what you want to do already! Nothing wrong with making the stock motor a little quicker. I'm pouring money into my l20b just because I wanted to stay stock in some way. ...I'll be rebuilding a L16SSS for my car over the winter break from school. dreamwerkz
Yeah, I think I’ll start by rebuilding the L16 then decide on the KA later. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Well if you do, document with lots of pictures and parts and expenses. Later if you want to sell the motor you'll have something to back up the price for it. Quote Link to comment
