Heater was never removed for the swap though......... :D Not sure what I'm gonna do with the 510 yet....the trannie was for my LZ 720...but...who knows. Hmmmmm...L28E in another 4x4 I have.... has a ring to it....I'm sure it will fit... :D Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Was 'fortunately' attached to a 69 '2dr'... actually a 4dr...with an L28E :D Motor looks like an L24(S) from a 240Z , course it could be an L28 with SUs. Doug this is great news! We can connect on a car level too! Needs a 5 speed?.... and your LZ foh soh. The Lw/e is too heavy over the front and it can be your summer car anyway. What does Ruby think about it?? Is it the new Blues Mobile??? Quote Link to comment

Is it the new Blues Mobile??? Pretty sure it's a L28E.....so he says :) SUs somewhat help the 'debate'.... :D Don't have the 510 home yet.....have to locate a car hauler, it's about 110 km away. Not sure if the dogs will like their new ride....which I'll call The Dog Pound.. :D Although....I'm sure the back windows roll down....that should help with the transition. Won't insure it this year....winter is just around the corner Already have a question... ...if the LZ was dropped in....the driveshaft is to short....correct? Being that the L28 sits farther back. Trannie...I believe is from the the same 280....long tail. That reminds me........sure does shift nice...click...click.. :) Zero play...with short shifter...mmmmmmm Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Doug, that looks like a 4 door car. Yes I forgot that the engine was moved back so the LZ could use that long tranny but the driveshaft would need to be stock... talk to Merlin. Look on the block behind the dip stick handle next time you're there. It might be an L28E block but with carbs it's an L28(S). I would guess 150 engine hp if an L24 and 160-ish if L28 with carbs.
