racerx
I have an L18, was wondering what spark plugs you guys are using and gap. I also hi-po coil and pertronix ( no pints). Only respond if you have L18. Thanks...RacerX 2 Quote Link to comment
DanielC
If you drive normally, NGK BP6ES, can also use a BPR6ES. If these plugs run too hot, (white insulator on center electrode), use BP5ES Quote Link to comment
racerx
I thought that BP5 are hotter, Japanese plugs get hotter when numbers go down? Quote Link to comment
DanielC
I believe the lower number plug is the colder plug, with NGK. But it will not be the first time I was wrong. But start with the "6". Quote Link to comment
Sealik
I believe the lower number plug is the colder plug, with NGK. But it will not be the first time I was wrong. But start with the "6". Well... My FSM says Hot type....BPR5ES Cold type....BPR7ES For NGK, the higher the number, the colder the plug. http://www.ngk.com/charglossary.asp?kw=Heat+range Quote Link to comment
Ron1200
NGK: Higher number is Colder, Lower number is Hotter. NGK PDF courtsey of Laecaon Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
OIC, the larger the number, the colder and hotter the plug ... Quote Link to comment
zed
i run NGK BP5 EY in my L18. BP6 is colder. Gap is 1.1 mm Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The BP5ES11 would be a hotter plug suitable for a lower compression motor. The 1.1mm gap should only be used with an EI or high output ignition system. Quote Link to comment
