metalmonkey47
Why not just get an electronic dizzy? People sell them on here all the time. Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
Datsun makes the best Electronic Ignition. 1978 up is high energy, will fire a .042 spark plug gap (1976-1977 is low energy). I got one at Pick-N-Pull for $12.50 on a 1/2 price sale, but it looks like the raised the price to $38. Pertronix is apparently low energy electronic ignition. Quote Link to comment

banzai510(hainz)
I just had a pertronix burn out on me ,,, low life/time on it too most like you got the wrong coil in there running to much current. I never had one go bad. But the nissan EI ones are good also. the early EI ones I usedx to throw away till I see this forum on how to hook them up. key is get one with a good bushing!!!!!!! I never had one go bad. That could be a possibility for sure ! ,,, but ,,, I was running a "Pertronix Flamethrower 40,000 volt Coil" ( recommended to go with the Pertronix Module ,,, according to Pertronix ) In addition to above ^^^ I tested the wiring to ,,, and from ,,, the ignition system ,,, all good !!! ,,, Cleaned connections quickly as well ,,, replaced ignition pillow-block "resistor" with a new one as well ! ,,, Now I am running a points Dizzy ,,, so I can drive the damn car for naow  So I guess I am baffled myself as I don't know why the pertronix module failed so fast ,,, :) Quote Link to comment
