Datsun makes the best Electronic Ignition. 1978 up is high energy, will fire a .042 spark plug gap (1976-1977 is low energy). I got one at Pick-N-Pull for $12.50 on a 1/2 price sale, but it looks like the raised the price to $38.

Pertronix is apparently low energy electronic ignition.

most like you got the wrong coil in there running to much current. I never had one go bad.

That could be a possibility for sure ! ,,, but ,,, I was running a "Pertronix Flamethrower 40,000 volt Coil" ( recommended to go with the Pertronix Module ,,, according to Pertronix )

In addition to above ^^^ I tested the wiring to ,,, and from ,,, the ignition system ,,, all good !!! ,,, Cleaned connections quickly as well ,,, replaced ignition pillow-block "resistor" with a new one as well ! ,,,

Now I am running a points Dizzy ,,, so I can drive the damn car for naow

So I guess I am baffled myself as I don't know why the pertronix module failed so fast ,,,

:)
