79funky620
Best cheap shocks for a 2inch lowered 79 620? I saw a few choices like the KYB gas-adjust or excel-G, the Toxic Drop shocks, and Gabriel shocks. Here is a link to the options I came across: Shock lowering options Anyone have experience with the Toxic or the others? I was gonna just get some OEM shocks but I was worried about bottoming out. They said 2 inches of travel would be left which I was told is safe. I'm thinking it's fine but if I can buy some higher performance shocks for around the same price they gave me ($26ish per shock) that would be great to know thanks! Quote Link to comment
Wide14u
on a 2in drop i think they would all be fine but i use kyb Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
None of those are any shorter than the stock shocks. I like KYB's. Stay away from Toxic... Quote Link to comment

79funky620
is that a pic of it lowered No that is before, I still have to lower it actually which is something I hope to do this week. Yeah it still sits pretty high, even 3inches would look better I think but I'll try 2 and see how it goes. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Looks much lower now. Before After How did the KYB shocks make a difference? I recently put the original 1972 KYBs back on my Datsun, and it rides much smoother than gas-charged Monroes. Stopped bouncing on bumps too. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Just skip the 2". You'll lower it, then wish you had gone 3" Fuck it. Go 4". You'll be fine. Quote Link to comment

But really yeah it feels like a new truck. I had some shite old beat up shocks on there so the difference is immense but I can tell you when I go over a bump or hit a pothole it's not like I run over a boulder anymore. It was really jarring before let me tell you! Oh the old shocks didn't even return when compressed. So that tells a lot. Quote Link to comment

I think they were $65 for a set of 2 that comes with the air lines etc. Quote Link to comment

Pacific coast Datsun
If youve got the tools & time you can always raise the front shock towers & run the KYB's or even stock shocks & it'll ride nice. Involves some cutting & welding but it's worth it. Quote Link to comment
