Rob W.
I had seen this car at the local junkyard a while back and was scheming to find a way to bring it home. I had just bought a 87 Maxima for $100 and was having issues with it intermittently losing spark and all the parts were ridiculously expensive so I thought maybe I would see if the dude at the junk yard wanted to trade. He did look what I got. These are just preliminary picks I took with the phone. I will get more on Sunday. The little car drove itself to the spot you see it parked at there and it turned over there at the yard but the fuel lines were busted so it was a no go, It will need an exhaust system as the junkyard cut the cat out before I got to it. Already picked up fuel lines and new filter. I plan to resurrect it on Sunday. It has a a14 with a 5 speed tranny and 236,000 miles on it can't wait to take it for a spin. The engine bay was immaculate I think it should run well hope it does then we just need to claim lost title and we're good. It has a little bit of rust on the doors and on the fenders but nothing too bad. So anyway can you tell I'm excited. Now I can sell my 81 Tercel eventually and run this one when the kids need to come along. Quote Link to comment
Rob W.
I got a bit excited typing all that forgot to ask a couple questions. It is clearly a 210 badge on back the back says so, but the plate in the engine compartment says 310, why? Also what to guys think I should do for exhaust I don't need to pass emissions. Also can you slam a little Weber on these things or should I just stick with the stock carb? Anyways I am way stoked I have wanted 210 for a very long time now I got one :D :D :D Quote Link to comment
Jayden71
Daaaaaaaaaaaaam!! Nice score  Quote Link to comment
izzo
it should have an a series motor, which means yeah you can put a weber on there. exhaust choices are unlimited.... Quote Link to comment
Rob W.
Cool I think I might just stick a Cherry Bomb on there it works well on the 620 so it should go all right on there too. Any one got a used weber they want to get rid of? I need a lock for the trunk lid too currently it's just a hole. I like holy things and all but it's not gonna work on the trunk. Lonestar
Welcome to the 210 family! That's a clean little car you found there! Yes, that be a 210 but they were 310 in japan. As far as I know anyways, Datsunfreak would be the one ask on here about your car. You found a true Diamond in the ruff with this one. Give us more OIC's!!! Quote Link to comment
dirtydiesel
cherry bombs!!!!!! with a rusty folgers can for a tip. thats what i did with my friends tercel. its am abnoxiously bad ass sound Quote Link to comment
Drive510
NICE SCORE!! People are always junking these early 80's Datsuns. So much potential though. I think they have around 85 hp stock on the A-series motor. They can be modded though. A set of Hayashi Street rims would look really cool on this car but for what they cost you could buy about 10 of these cars for the price you paid. Quote Link to comment
Rob W.
More pics coming soon guys I towed it to a friends house as it was like 2 miles from the junkyard. So no picks till I get back over there on Sunday to get it running. Glad you all like it Quote Link to comment

Tehcnically, they were called Sunnys in Japan. ;) The chassis code for this car is B310. 71-73 1200 = B110 chassis, 74-78 B210 = B210 chassis, 79-83 210 = B310 chassis. Quote Link to comment

The engine bay was immaculate I think it should run well hope it does It's probably due for a head gasket. Only problem I've ever seen on these is that they usually seem to blow the head gasket at about 225-250k. :P Head gasket takes 2 hours and costs about $50, so no biggie if it does. I had this exact same car a few years back, late 4dr in chocolate brown. Had it dumped on some 13x7 Cragar S/S wheels. I miss it. Quote Link to comment

Rob W.
I'd love to bring it to Canby. Anyone want to cover my gas I'll be there with bells on Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Congrats looks nice A series had few head gasket problems compared to other aluminim head enhines. So no worries. Just torque the head regularly as per the factory service manual. And dont let it run out of water. In Japan these are called B310 or Sunny. In usa B310 or 210. B310 is the nissan model code which is the same worldwide Quote Link to comment

It is clearly a 210 badge on back the back says so, but the plate in the engine compartment says 310, why? It's a B310 chassis. Should say something like "KPB310" iirc. A series had little head gasket problem compared to other aluminim head enhines. So no worries. Just torque the head regularly as per the factory service manual. And dont let it run out of water. For sure. I had a blown head gasket on my A15 and didn't even know it. Picked it up, drove it 300 miles, then pulled the head when a thermostat housing bolt broke, and found it was trashed between cyl 4 and the water jacket. Never showed a single symptom though, didn't even seem to use much coolant. Edited June 3, 2011 by metalmonkey47 Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
210 is just a marketing name. All world wide it is B310. Quote Link to comment
Drive510
Wait, weren't the 310's fwd?? It's the 110 and the 210 that are rwd. Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Totally missed all the other posts in the thread  this one is busy! Wait, weren't the 310's fwd?? It's the 110 and the 210 that are rwd. the 310 is different. The B310/210 is a completely different car. Used A series though Quote Link to comment
