NWOleman
was wondering if anybody knows where i can get a polyurethan bushing kit for my 72 goon? I would like to get all new bushings for my goon cause the ones in it now are completely shot! So does anybody make them for the 510 wagon's? Quote Link to comment

benzo
personally don't like using them. noisy. I like using oem style or delrin for the TC arm in front and you can still get the rear leaf bushings from Nissan. this is what I did and it was nice and the car did not sound like junk Quote Link to comment
SpenOne
I was looking into this today and spotted these on EBAY: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DATSUN-510-Total-Polyurethane-Bushing-Kit-BLACK-/260510694980 Not sure of the quality, but not bad I guess... Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
Don't run poly in your tc rods it will snapp the rod napa still sells rubber tc bushings . I don't like poly because you are supposed to lube it once a year. Quote Link to comment

PoorMtnKid
I snapped my TC rod on my 510 due to poly bushings. I have slow started replacing them with OEM Quote Link to comment
littlejason
You guys are snapping TC rods? For real??? I'd like to have mine professionally machined, but not if they're gonna break. Quote Link to comment
Skib
You guys are snapping TC rods? For real??? I'd like to have mine professionally machined, but not if they're gonna break. it happens on them all (Z/ZX's too), if your run all polly on the TC rod it doesnt allow it enough flex and it breaks . gotta run one polly and one rubber Quote Link to comment

john510
Somewhere on ratsun or the 510 realm theres info on drilling holes in the poly bushing for the t/c rods.Thats what i ended up doing and i havent broke anything yet. Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
There is write up on dime quarterly you are supposed to drill 6 holes in the polly so they can flex. I like to use t3 rods but if you do that dont forget to stitch weld the tc pocket Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
But why use Poly when the brand-new Nissan bushings work so well? Quote Link to comment

SyCK
What about using poly for the F/R control arms? My car came with a full set BNIB but if it's going to be an issue down the road I'd rather get a set of spherical type bushings. edit: NM, I searched and got my answer. Quote Link to comment
zerow
Back on track...here are the links for the suspension components I've bought for the 610 sedan over the years (They have 510 stuff, too): http://www.racetep.com/datsunsusp.html http://www.suspension.com/nissancars.htm Hope this helps... srljunkie38
The reason people snap the T/C rods are for two reasons. 1) the car is so low and the t/c rod has a ton of angle in it. Bumpsteer spacers will fix the angle issue. 2) energy suspension bushings are poorly designed. I sell a poly kit that is cone shaped, allowing the rod to pivit without binding. JUST TRYING TO HELP!!!
