    200hp l20

I guess it also depends what you want to see when you open the hood. Personally a vg is a waste of time. Heavy, not cheap to install and lets face it, bolt on's. What bolt on's. Headers, intake, a Holley. The heads are junk too. V6 torque is all you get. SR swap....geting closer. KA swap, even better. The bottom line is 200 hp from any combo isn't going to be cheap. I've dyno'd alot of combo's. The stock ka24de is the most power, (NA), for the dollar on the dyno. I'm talking about a used engine with ??? miles. Now if you want to level the playing field and rebuild that KA, cams, include a header, wiring harness work, fuel pump, x-member flip, and all the other little extra's needed to rock a good looking and running ka is going to be ALL of $5000. Same as a new 200hp 2.3 and all the bolt on's and its a nice and easy install! Which brings me back to the first comment. "It depends on what you want to see when you open the hood." I love the L-series and I think the L-series belongs in a 510. The fj20 is a pretty cool swap but hard to get parts for. The ka24de with carbs looks good too. I don't think there is easy answer to the age old question..."How to make power and not spend very much $$$". Just my opinion...Troy Ermish

    idler arm bearing conversion

Well I thought nobody would ever ask for a bearing style idler. I've been using one on my race and installed a few sets in my customers cars. I use a delron kit and a thrust washer and bearing kit. $90 Troy Ermish ermish-racing.com

    610s unite!!!!!!

You can see the build from start to finish on my website.... ermish-racing.com... of course. My customer went the extra mile to make sure all the chrome and trim pieces were the cleanest we could find. I built a 2.3 L-series with Mikuni's. I bought the car from a church lady in sac. It was an auto with a sunroof. RUST free! BTW installing 610 trim pieces suck!...so many clips and screws. Its not as easy as a 510 for sure. Troy Ermish

    LZ20 Stroker vs. Long rod?

With that little carb you would be better of building a stroker. The carb just doesn't move enough air to support a higher revving long rod. I would use a z22 crank or the complete z22 short block. You will need to do some jetting too. Troy

    Qa1's piece them together cheaper?

Well sometimes I get a little ticked when I put alot of effort into figuring out something. I'm sure being in the graphics business you must know what I mean. Troy.

    Qa1's piece them together cheaper?

Why is there always someone trying to re-invent the wheel. If you can piece the kit together for less than I sell it BUY IT! My kit is on sale for $510. The best part is I did the home work for you and if you think you can save a couple of bucks and chance buying the wrong part then I guess you need to do it. I machine the stud mount kit as well. I don't mean to sound like an a-hole but I try very hard to offer the best service and prices I can and still make it as a shop. Thanks Troy
