datsunfreak
click on hte "linky"..... Sorry, link didn't seem to show up on the "mobile" version of the site... :P Went by and looked at it after work. Body was really straight. Lady behind the counter said it was complete and in the "for sale" section for a month and got zero offers. Been in the "parting out" section for two weeks now (only engine and left fender missing). Other than some rust in the spare tire well and in the firewall (blocked wiper trough drains cause this, common in Texas cars that sit outside for long periods of time), it was in decent shape and would have been prime "Ratsun" material. Almost made me cry to see it sitting there, knowing it deserved a better fate... :console: I always swipe the engine ID plate from 510s I find in the junkyard, like the dog tags of a fallen soldier... Gonna go back Saturday and see what I can salvage... Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Oh, and none of youse better take anything off the rear suspension. :P Quote Link to comment
Shagy
maybe someone will buy the whole car.... but then you'd have to put the plate back =) Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
maybe someone will buy the whole car.... Now, did you reeeeeeally think I didn't try that already? :P :P :P Once they start parting them out, that's it. Done. Cannot be sold. And will be crushed within 2 months. Quote Link to comment
Shagy
that sucks. maybe if your persistant?? the way it looks/sounds now, just needs a fender and motor..... Quote Link to comment
VintageRice
theres no way they wouldnt sell it right?!? I mean c'mon offer the guy behind the counter $50 to help. Or talk to the manager and explain that this is like crushing a 68 camaro!! Maybe then they'd understand!! Kills me to see that in a "junk"yard... Thanks for posting a pic BTW :D Quote Link to comment

Or talk to the manager and explain that this is like crushing a 68 camaro!! Here in Texas, once they start parting it out, they send the title to Austin saying the car has been destroyed. That VIN can never ever be registered as a driveable car. Its a goner fellas. And that's a fact. FYI, Pick-N-Pull is a billion dollar corporation with many thousands of employees. You think they're gonna risk it all for one 510? Not a chance in hell. They ain't risking it for a '68 Camaro neither. This ain't my first rodeo. ;) Quote Link to comment
VintageRice
Better at least go strip it clean then. Glass and all!! Quote Link to comment
Shagy
They could sell it as a track car only. Cars w/out titles have been sold lik that. That sucks. Give them your number and have them call you if another one shows up. Quote Link to comment

Give them your number and have them call you if another one shows up. One step ahead of you. ;) Quote Link to comment

NWOleman
how but if you cut the car in half? could you buy one half one day and buy the other half the next day? cut the windsheild pillars and across the floorboards just in front of the seat braces. Then just weld it back together. Just that simple folks! lol Quote Link to comment

NWOleman
yeah i was joking bout thaat. I wonder tho if they would actually let you do that tho? You guys should ask and see what they say? Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Hey that thing has a receiver for a hitch. Any chance it can be unbolted ? Not really a proper "receiver" hitch. Just a basic bolt-on trailer ball/hitch. And yes, it can be unbolted. Two big bolts through the bumper, two big bolts through the spare tire well. Quote Link to comment
fuzz's '71 510
Would you be willing to cut off the whole taillight panel and rear valence and ship it??? Fuzz Quote Link to comment
