What K member you have?

Havent read from the start on this.

Here it is before I droppeed it in.

The 5 speed didnt have a crossmember when I bought it so It has the one that was on the 4 speed that was already in the car. I just measured from the front of the bellhousing to where the mount bolts up and its about an inch or 2 different it looks like. Which would make sence

yeah lets see it! did you have to drill and use different bolts? or did the holes line up when you spaced it?

Ok so this is the proper way to do it:

Here is how I did it...:

Yes those are nuts as spacers... This is not permanent, nor is it safe looking.

Do you have the availability of a Auto(column) K member, its a bolt in item(as best as it gets other than a Specialty or Carter B modded)

not true, My picture is the auto tranny K member.

Only thing is I think, is that it has more of a bow to it, so when you flip it, it sits under the tranny better.

Also note, the dogleg uses T head bolts and then you thread nuts on from below. I lost one of them, so I just put a nut on top, and ran a bolt from the bottom.

haha whoa scary. So you drilled different holes in the crossmember so the bolt would go through. Im probably going to find another way to space it hahaha

As you should. I did say it was ghetto.

I would like to get some 1" square tube to use as a spacer, Have it bolt to the car, and the crossmember bolt to the spacer.

much better Idea..

It works same as the specialty one(from up here) tested and proven for years... :D

oh nice! that's the way to go there. I gotta think about this. Ill probably give it a try with my existing crossmember asn save the mony but Id rather have that.
