They have to be line bored if towers taken off. kills bearings if not  Quote Link to comment
ptown green
But yeah I tried it with the cross member both ways and the bolts are off. If I put a spacer in there to level out the driveline will the bolts line up? Idk how much of a spacer to use though Quote Link to comment

ptown green
 now back to that "tranny" did you flip the K member? Yeah I tried to flip it and the bolt holes were still off. Maybe it just needs to be flipped and spaced down a little? Quote Link to comment

Laecaon
Yes, the dogleg mounts an inch or 2 lower than stock. So get creative. Its the only part that isnt "simple". Wanna see my ghetto mount? Quote Link to comment
ptown green
What K member you have? Havent read from the start on this. Here it is before I droppeed it in. The 5 speed didnt have a crossmember when I bought it so It has the one that was on the 4 speed that was already in the car. I just measured from the front of the bellhousing to where the mount bolts up and its about an inch or 2 different it looks like. Which would make sence Quote Link to comment

Guest 510kamikazifreak
Do you have the availability of a Auto(column) K member, its a bolt in item(as best as it gets other than a Specialty or Carter B modded) 1 Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
yeah lets see it! did you have to drill and use different bolts? or did the holes line up when you spaced it? Ok so this is the proper way to do it: Here is how I did it...: Yes those are nuts as spacers... This is not permanent, nor is it safe looking. Quote Link to comment

Only thing is I think, is that it has more of a bow to it, so when you flip it, it sits under the tranny better. Also note, the dogleg uses T head bolts and then you thread nuts on from below. I lost one of them, so I just put a nut on top, and ran a bolt from the bottom. Quote Link to comment

Im probably going to find another way to space it hahaha Quote Link to comment

I would like to get some 1" square tube to use as a spacer, Have it bolt to the car, and the crossmember bolt to the spacer. Quote Link to comment

Laecaon
Maybe a bit more. I figured the width of 3 7/8ths nuts was good. No odd sounds, so that is good. Quote Link to comment
ptown green
well I guess ill get an inch of square tubing and either drill holes that line up with the mount and put bolts down through there with a nut and washer on the bottom or modify the mount so I can use the original bolt holes. Shit and I thought I was just bolting it in. Quote Link to comment
