strut tube spacer?

Does anyone know of someone that makes strut tube spacers? Looking for some billet spacers to go down into the bottom of my 280ZX struts so I can run MR2 rear shocks without chopping the strut tubes.

I think he's talking about inside the strut tube not the rca's.....

Wouldn't a bunch of washers work?

I know washers would work but I don't want to run them cause of sloshing around. Next thing you know I hear something a year down the road and trying to troubleshoot it because I forgot that washers are in there jingling around.

I agree about the washers, but why can't you weld the washers together? I have a 4 door 68 510 and I am trying to replace the front strut cartridges. I think I'm going to get 81-83ZX strut inserts since you can't buy 68 replacements for the front. I Don't want to use washers, so my buddy is going to make me a spacer I will post pictures when I am done

Washers will work fine as long as theyre the same inside diameter as the strut tube.

or a small section of pipe with 1 end welded up that slides into the tube.

I recall reading that someone used a plumbing coupling like this as a spacer.

 

 

 

They come in various sizes so if you went to Home Depot, you could probably find one that will work.

Correct, washers aren't like change jingling in your pocket. They will be stacked with a strut cartridge on top holding them down. They aren't going anywhere.
