974 620 Brakes - Spring loaded Klipperdoo that keeps brakes from getting out of adjustment?

 

First... WOW! Since the last time I posted this forum has undergone some major changes!

 

Okay, got that out of my system... I had a post on here about finding replacement components for the front brakes on my 1974 Datsun Pickup but I couldn't find it. Too bad for me because one of the forum members had the parts I needed and was willing to sale them to me.

 

Anyways, here's my truck... some of you may remember some of the threads I started as you all helped me to put it back on the road.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anyway, some of you regulars might remember this project...

 

Here's what I need help with, there's a little spring loaded thingy that rests against the star dial on the bottom of the brake calipers that keeps the star dial from turning after you've adjusted the drum brakes.

 

Where can I get these components?

 

I'm thinking about selling it since I live in Florida now and it's in SoCal but before I do anything I need to get these parts and fix the brakes.

Best bet is to find a parts truck locally, check the parts for sale forum I see some of the guy's offering to ship small parts.

You may still be able to find these parts new at a parts store. Find one of the older ones around you that's willing to look it up in a book. Autozone,Kragen etc are out. They only know the computers and WILL NOT generally look stuff up in books even though they have em in the back or under the counter. Or the alternative like someone else mentioned is find a parts truck locally.

Id say junkyard will be your best bet...remove part & insert into pocket. Grab both sides just incase. That way you get your $2 "entrance fee & recycling charges" back :rolleyes:

Yes, I'm planning on bringing it to Florida, going to probably have it shipped out like I did my Jimmy and my boat.
