Aaron Datsun
Hello I grew up around Datsuns and my grandpa has what I have been told is a 710 that is just sitting however I was told it has an inline 6 in it as well. DId they ever come with a 2liter inline 6 or something? I am trying to figure out how to get her she isn't going anywhere but she is over 500 miles away. next time I visit home I will get some pictures. Quote Link to comment
Stupid_fast
I thought they came with an L20b 2 liter inline 4. He might be confusing the engine with the 2-liter L20a, which is the 6-cylinder 240z version. Its most likely swapped if it does have an inline-6. Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Only L6 Datsuns to my knowledge were Z cars and the Maxima that had the L24. Quote Link to comment
I'm BLUE
Datsun 810's had an L24 as well ;) Quote Link to comment
Skib
710 only had 4 bangers in them, even when they became the Stanza. he may be confusing the L20B with the L20A that came in the Cedric and the very early Fairlady Z's in the Japanese market. we never got L20A motors in any of our cars. Skib
Datsun 810's had an L24 as well ;) the 810 became the Maxima in the early 80's they also came with the LD28 as an option Quote Link to comment
Aaron Datsun
maybe they are confused then and maybe it is an 810. I wish I could get there and take some photos hopefully in a few months I can. Also he didn't state the l20 part he just thought that it was a 6 cylinder. Quote Link to comment
zerow
10-series and a 6 cylinder would point to the 810, not the 710. However, a quick transposing in the digits of the year and make could cause confusion i.e.: a '77 810 Quote Link to comment

67411sss
Unless it's a 2000 GTX import ? Quote Link to comment
Aaron Datsun
well I wish, but I really doubt that, when I go back to Kansas next time on leave I will get some pictures, if it is worth it(AKA if the wife agrees to let me have it) I am going to try and save it Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Maybe he just doesn't no what he's talking about? Or maybe it's an RB20 (DOUBT IT)? Either way, it's a kickass Datsun so pick it up!! Edited October 19, 2010 by metalmonkey47 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I thought they came with an L20b 2 liter inline 4. Also L18s too. Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
I'd love to get ahold of an 810 and throw an L28et in there. ^_^ Quote Link to comment
zerow
I'd love to get ahold of an 810 and throw an L28et in there. ^_^ I would go a step further. Throw just the L28 in there, put on the 'NISSAN 2400' valve cover. A set of beautiful 3 (or 4) screw SUs, an Electronic Ignition, and rock the old school engine look with a later high displacement motor. Badassery at its finest... Quote Link to comment
Aaron Datsun
I would go 1 step further and put an L4 in the front and another in the back and have the front engine run the front tires, and the rear run the rear, there is a genesis or something that did that its pretty cool. But seriously I am trying to find some days off so I can go visit the family and assess the datsun situation back at the parents I believe there is a 1600 at my dads house, and that 810 at my great grand parents. I will take photos don't worry Ratsun I would hate to disappoint you. Quote Link to comment
