what would you do with a 79 510 with a bad head gasket

Hi,

I have a 1979 Datsun 510 wagon with a bad head gasket and I don’t know what I should do with it. I have call around about getting a JDM motor for it but no luck. I pay $1,000 for it for a EX-girlfriend (I know I should have just walk away) there is new brakes on the car and the motor is a L20B with AT.

 

Why did I scraped that SR20 motor I could have stuff it in there.

$50 for head gasket set kit -- probably don't even need to plane the head, just get the surface very clean -- add a little elbow grease -- and you have a $1000 car again. Ratsuners might even help if you ask.

That's it???? A blown h/g? Just fix it and drive it. That's the best way to say :fu: to her. Let her see you driving around in it smiling. I did my L20B for the cost of a $23 gasket.

 

Not the car's fault shes a bitch.

 

1. Find a motor for it. No need, cheaper to fix
2. Part it out. Not worth the bother for what you get for it
3. Take a honda S2000 motor and stuff it inside See youtube video Fuck honduh get it running and enjoy it
   

1. Take out motor and make it petal powered for dead baby downhill (Google dead baby downhill)
2. take a 9lb hammer and people can hit it for a $1.00 a wack.
3. thow it in the ditch and forget the bitch

To make the head gasket replacement succesfull:

* get the block face and head face very very clean & oil free

* torque the bolts with a torque wrench - don't guess!

* torque in the factory order per a repair manual

* torque in stages per a repair manual

* use a repair manual

id do the dollar a wack thing then when i got enough money to fix it i would drive it and continue the dollar a wack untill i had enough money to do watever i wanted with it or id sell it to me for the price of one butterd biscuit with jelly

since when does a blown head gasket mean the gasket is the only thing wrong with it? take the head to a shop while its off, its probably warped
