TE72_Sunny
Hey guys, I'm a new member to this forum and proud owner of a 1980 Datsun 210 (310) Sunny. I have some exterior pics below, and I will have some interior and engine shots soon, so have patience. The Sunny is overall stock, has an automatic trans and it's pretty clean to be an old school, but as all Japanese automobiles it as some rough rust spots under the carpet and etc. It's missing some bumpers, for some dumb-@ss reason the previous owner took them off and got rid of them. I'm hoping to come across a a pair either usdm or jdm whatever is cost effective or available. I'm also looking for a clutch and brake pedal to convert it over to 5-speed... yes, like everyone else I want an engine upgrade! I'm thinking SR20DET with a 5-Speed. This car obviously has been dropped (springs cut) and I'm also hoping to find a suspension that will fit this car. Anyways... enjoy! Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Damn man. That thing is really clean! You are missing a piece of trim on the gas door. I got it if you want it :P Don't know if the color will match. Welcome to Ratsun btw! Edited April 19, 2010 by metalmonkey47 Quote Link to comment
TE72_Sunny
Thank you! I keep her garaged & covered. I bought a set of ssr xr-4 longchamps that I'm going to be putting on her soon!!! :::school girl giggle::: How much for that trim? Any extra clutch and brake pedals? BTW is there a thread with pics of yours? Quote Link to comment
Colbino
Nice! My friend has the same car except his is an '81 and stock. How does it ride/handle on those chopped springs? I'm thinking about cutting his soon. Anyway..."welcome!" -CH Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Well I'd have to calculate shipping, but probably 5 or 6 with shipping. And I don't even have pad's on my pedals. But I know that you can find them through The Parts Bin.com and Rock Auto for a few bucks a piece. Those rims are going to look beautiful on your Sunny!! That's my bad boy :P http://community.rat...etalmatts-b310/ Edited April 20, 2010 by metalmonkey47 Quote Link to comment

Bleach
Very clean car. I have a Sunny factory Nissan service manual (hardcover) for sale if you're interested. Quote Link to comment
TE72_Sunny
metalmonkey - Hope everything comes along fine with your sunny... it's a nice car and has a lot of potential! Colbino - Thanks... so far I've kept it garaged kept and only drove it the day I bought it (about a year ago lol) so I can't really tell you how it handles, but I'm loving the hop! Jersey streets are not cooperative though, it seems like NJ and NY are competing for that #1 spot for worst streets, so I think I'll end up lifting it. sinner - Thanks... nice truck btw! not a bad idea with that front bumper, it would definitely look great on my ride. Almost close to the jdm bumpers. Bleach - thanks, but I should be fine without the service manual. Quote Link to comment

TE72_Sunny
So I got my grill through the mail the other day which is a good thing, but I have to sand it down and prep it which is going to be a b!tch. I don't know how I'm going to get inside and sand all individual diamonds, but here are some pics. If any of you have a good tip or idea of getting in between those small areas, please let me know. Drive510
Nice Sunny. If you really need to sand between the diamonds, I think the only thing that would work would be to have it sandblasted. BTW: nice touch on the Longchamps. Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
For the grill you can use a small dremel with a very high grit sand wheel on it. Looks good. Post more pics with it on the car asap! Quote Link to comment
Mini-L320
Use a sand blaster. But use baking soda instead. Sand itself will destroy the plastic and make it rougher. Quote Link to comment
TE72_Sunny
Won't sandblasting eat right through the plastic? I'm just trying to be careful because it's not like I can find another grill so easy and they aren't cheap. Then again I really don't want to put a lot of elbow grease in to the grill. metalmonkey47
Use an sandblaster with baking soda instead of grit is what he meant The baking soda isn't as coarse of a grit and won't do any damage. Quote Link to comment
