speedometer cable & tachometer help

first im looking for a speedo cable for my 510 was wondering were i could get one i here you could use a 240z cable is this true? and my second problem is i cant get my factory tach to work it has 4 leads coming out of it a green a black and 2 whites if i hook the green to the negative on the coil it works but is way off it idles a like 3000 rpms any idea would be much appreciated thanks

The 510 tachs are known to go bad after a while but they can be fixed. I had one that did that and I sent it off to my friend to have him rebuild it and put better stuff in it. What he did exactly I have not clue, but, it works again.

 

I believe there is a thread on here somewhere about tach repairs and updates.

 

As for the speedo cable, yes, the 240 should work, but, you can still get the 510 one from almost any auto parts store or Nissan.

We still have them available at NAPA, I got one for the 510 last year. They are pretty cheap, and the construction reflects that. They still work just fine, but a factory one (if you can get it) is nicer.
