How to Determine The Year Of my 620

I bought this 620 from a guy and He Said its a 1973 but on the Pink Its a 1972

Is There a certain Cut Off from the year it was built to determine that??

All the numbers match up though..So can someone show me the LIGHT?:cursing::unsure:

On the door on underhood there is a plate with a build date on it. It will have a date of manufacture with a stamped 1-9 month and the year after it.

So if was built in June of 72 wouldnt it be a 73?

No-it would be a late 72.

For most parts stuff I'd say it would be a '73 being that late in the year. Usually the 6th month goes to the later year.

 

Either way, what's it matter? There's not much difference between a '72 and '73 620 with that late a production date, unless someone else knows something?

If I remember right,the first one I bought said on the title that it was a 72 1/2. Maybe they changed mid year? like the 70 1/2 Camaro or Chevy did witht the 55 pickup.

For all practical purposes it's a 73.

I had a '72 620 at one time and I do belive it was considered a '72.5. I think they did that because they also made the 521's in a '72 model year, correct?

Both 521/620s were made in '72. 620s started in March I believe. 521s ended in June??

It's probably long missing, but the emissions label on the firewall had the model year. But it was a sticker, and tended to fall off or get painted over. The VIN would tell the tale.
