datzenmike Posted December 9, 2009 Report Share Posted December 9, 2009 Generally a small restriction in the exhaust has less affect than one in the intake. But I agree, if I had a head apart I would get rid of them. A few years ago I did just that on a W-58 peanut head. The valves have to be removed because the liner wraps around the protruding valve guide. I used a 6" cold chisel and slit the liner open along it's length and pried the long strips into the middle of the port and twisted them out. It was a total bitch of a time. 45 minutes for the first, to learn how and 15 for the rest Link to comment
