]2eDeYe
So this is my mom's 4runner. I spent last month swapping in a 22re (3.0's suck) and swapping in a straight axle. Some of the axle fab work was from a while ago. Still some work to do, but the major fab work is finished. Here's some pic's n stuff. Enjoy :D Cleaned axle parts I tore down the IFS hubs and got to work modifying the IFS calipers to work with the solid axle knuckles. I used heli-coils to thread the calipers to 1/2-13 to work with the new Grade 8 hardware. Then drilled the knuckles to clean the bolts and made sure they bolted up. Here's some shots of the work I did to the housing. Frenched the drainplug, installed a truss, steering stop re-informents and knuckle gussets. Paint n stuff Clear coated the steering arms 8) Painted up the outers as well. Had to drag it to my place (It was parked at my moms with no motor or front axle...) Loaded up. Back to my place. ]2eDeYe
Got the steering links painted A buddy cleaned up the motor mounts to prepare for frame pedestals. Got the frame tubes in for the rear spring mounts. Pics of my buddies measurin shit. :D Got the motor in for almost the last time, used the stock 4 cyl crossmember. Stoopid picture limitz Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Got the rotors drilled for the hubs. The new drill press that my awsome girl got me is sweet :D Punch size sux, so I made one slip fit/thread fit. 8) Pilots Big holes Pretty much ready to go. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
My welding skills are lacking, I did get better as the day progressed. These frame mounts were a pain in the ass and it looks like I missed a spot :P Working on the gusset art. and getting them cut. I suck with the plasma too :( Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Had to cut the bushings out of the rear springs. Todays progress. Finished up welding in the gussets. Finished assembly of the axle, the calipers still needed ground a bit. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Motor is in for hopefully the last time. :P Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Shifter lamage...still don't have the right transfer case shifter :( Steering sorta lamage... but the axles in :D But the rear gonna need a little lift  Had to splice the exhaust, turned out to be super simple Also got the calipers taken care of. They were hitting on the inside, 1/8 or so was all it needed. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Out in the daylight, waiting for a flatbed ride :) I need to pick up a different set of springs. I got a set of fronts coming, hopefully they will fix the steering issues. Still gotta wire in the motor, lift the rear and take car of the nickle and dime stuff. It's on all 4 wheels now though. :D Quote Link to comment

Axle kit, this has all the seals, gaskets and new wheel bearings: http://www.marlincrawler.com/axle/front-axle-parts/knuckle-service-kit-wheel-bearings I think they bolt right in, but it affects your steering geometry. Do you still have the stock steering stuff? Everyone I have talked to has been telling me waggy springs are the way to go. Front 7 leaf packs are the ones to look for. hey thats cool man im patient. i can go thru a few half shafts in the mean time I been going thru u-joints in the jeep lately. Quote Link to comment

831payupv8
chevy 2wd rear springs they are 63 inch springs you have to move the front spring hangers forward and just put a 2inch block and that gives you like 5inchs of lift and flex very well Quote Link to comment
