go to autoparts store an get soem TR3 rubbing compound/polish all in one,

does wonders with orginal paint.

 

yes most electrical proplem I experince on my 521 has been fuse box or battery cable

iv been keeping busy on the projects just havent been posting also iv been building a bar heres a couple pictures and pretty much finished ill upload more photos of the room when i get a little farther. motor out of the red truck getting ready to put it in after alot of fighting it finally went in turns out the a dowel on the bottom driver side corner. i didnt notice that the motor still had the dowel in and so did the transmission so a big hammer and a screwdriver solved that problem lol its coming along getting ready to start it soon

the exhaust that i have with no smog stuff was proving to be a pain to get off so out came the grinder and viola

i decided to put header wrap on my manifold probly not necessary at all but i dont like the fact that the intake and exhaust are so close together and only have that dinky little shield so i did something about it

i got the intake and exhaust put on and it looks alot better

then on went the carb and all kinds of little things its coming along

now i just have to find my negative battery cable i lost it somewhere?

EASIER TO READ INFO IN THE EVENT SECTION

so i know i havent been posting for a while but thats because i dont really have internet to play around on right now i have a bunch of pictures of what i've been doing ill be uploading in the next couple days. one thing im proud of is i made a volvo radio look stock in my truck so i have fm so now i can run the adapter that plugs in line with the antenna so i can play anything with a headphone jack through my stock looking stereo

ok so ive been doing all kinds of stuff i didnt take pictures of everything but ill fill in the blanks

first up was work on the front brakes and shocks

the old hardware looked good so i just replaced the shoes drums and wheel cylinders. the driverside brake hose broke so i had to get another one ill probly swap out the passenger side and rear later

engine bays all cleaned up now for the most part

i cleaned up the vinyl floor and vacumed the hell out of everything lol this is before and after with super clean (im a fan)

my bench has a singal rip in it on the driver side there's a little bit of a gap so i dont know if it can be repaired i hope so it looks badass lol

i finally mounted my coors light beer wolf shift knob turned out badass and doesnt hit anything. not bad for eyeballin it lol

swapped out my steering wheel for one off a 72 not knowing that the center horn buttons are different. oops, o well still looks better anyways. old one

fixed the driver side door gap now it shuts perfect one finger

mounted and balanced my new tires off a mazda miata lol. old lady said she didnt want them anymore

pile o' tires slightly used 5 bucks lol

i marked the wehre they were at so i could be consistant side to side lol

i ended up moving them 2 splines down and loosening the bolts in comparison to where it was originally and the adjusting from there for level

next up i found a 521 at pick n pull and scored now i have a hood latch cable lol no more screw driver through the grill for me please

also got some tailight wiring harness off it

some dude thought his alternator was bad so i sold him a new one. i tested his old one works just fine score one gm 1 wire high output alternator for me but this is going on later

an old jerry can i got for road trips

i didnt like where the hazard switch was so i moved it to where the manual choke was

had to extend my wires a bit

o ya i got a mirror from u pull it too lol

last thing i have pictures for right now is the stereo the original one was only fm but it worked unfortunatly that wouldn't work for what i want to do, i wanted to hook up an adapter that goes in line one side in the antenna port on the stereo and the other side comes from then just set a station and plug something into the headphone jack

this was a great cheap alternative ($10) stereo king on 82nd. instead of getting mine all redone internally. so a couple trips to u pull it i found a perfect donor out of an old volvo lol original on top volvo on bottom

i took the old wiring harnes off the volvo and updated some connectors

the cool things was the faceplate was almost exactly the same size

and the buttons were alittle bigger so some filing was in order

cut the old faceplate out

glued the "new" one in

the buttons were to tall too so i had to cut them down

and done

tucked everything up out of the way and ran the headphone jack wire into the glove box looks good

Castrol Super Clean is available at most auto parts stores.

It's a great ce-greaser and works real good cleaning the bbq

ya i work at baxters so i just got it from there i used it to clean cat poop off my garage floor too lol it works on just about anything and its bio degradable. for all those people who like simple green, its basically the same stuff just super clean is better lol. in my opinion

no i havent found it yet lol im still digging through all my papers i kinda hit a stall on it the wheel cyl exploded so i cant drive it anyways till i redo the rear brakes ill keep u up to date though

so the rear brakes are done i'd post pictures but they just look the same as the front for the most part. took it on a test drive and the transmission is bad 3rd is going out and 4th makes a sweet noise now im on the hunt for a cheap 4speed or dogleg 5 i need something that'll go right in i have things to trade if anyone is interested i have a long nose 5 speed a turbo 350 trans a l16 with most likely a timing cover that is corroded or a blown head gasket and a 4 speed thats bad lol good for a core or scrap i sappose and obviously cash but i dont want to dump a bunch of money into a tranny swap im putting a ka in it sooner then later so this is just so i can cruz it in the meantime
