Braden
i talked to the guy that has these for sale and he said he thinks they are for a datsun or a toyota, but what i need to know is if the manifold on them is the right one, i know somebody on here can look at it and tell me if it will bolt up to my l20b, if so then im gonna go pick them up tomorrow, thanks guys Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
You're going to need a new gasket anyway... so buy one and place it on the manifold and see if the holes line up. Probably will. You may still have to re-build that set but nothing wrong with doing that and learning something about them. Good score! Edited June 4, 2009 by datzenmike Quote Link to comment
sssr20det510
If you decide you dont want them you can turn around and sell them and get your money back no problem Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
thats the correct intake. But those are set up for the barlinkake which you see the 2 threaded holes. I bet this is some how rigged for a center pull cable so you still might need a cable holder mount of some short. But its its working perfect tell the guy Ill give him 300$ for it. banzai510(hainz)
but then it could be somebody elses junk! Quote Link to comment
Ultramagnus
just get the carbs, manifolds are easier to find. looks like it needs a rebuilt but you should do that to carbs that have been sitting in the 1st place, GL with that. Quote Link to comment
Labanon
get them. I would for that price. Quote Link to comment
Braden
bought the set with the manifold, look decent, kinda crusty, now i need some help in identfying them, i thought they were solex type s4 also known as PHH44, i got my info from here http://www.rmcarburetors.net/oem_toyota_solex_type_s4.htm so are these 44mm carbs? i need to get complete rebuild kits and a linkage kit for them so if you guys could either give me some more model numbers or part numbers, anything will help, thanks here are some pictures Edited June 6, 2009 by ghettobraden incorrect spelling Quote Link to comment
Braden
so i thought these were 40mm carbs now i know they are 44mm, is there any advantages/disadvantages? and why do i not have any venturis? does it not need them? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The are Mikuni PHH40 or PHH44. The 40s are far more common. Measure the bore, it is 40mm or 45mm? This Mikuni design was originally license from the Solex company out of France. So they are commonly called in Japan "Solex". Quote Link to comment
Braden
i know they are 44 mm because the throttle blades say 175 instead of 165, i need help finding rebuild kits and venturis and trumpets, or part numbers so i can go to the parts house and buy some, i took them to oreilys and they didnt have a clue Quote Link to comment
fivetengarage
You should be able to get all the parts you need from Todd at Wolfcreekracing.com.To use the center pull linkage setup you have to notch the manifold for clearance. Also you will need to make a basic cable bracket.Pretty easy to do. ggzilla
Yes, these are racing carbs, never (almost) used on a production car. Get your parts at a racing shop. Quote Link to comment
