bucketoval
i have been looking around at engine swaps. the vg swap looks ok there is a lot of motors and trans for cheap. there is not of ka motors and trans out here. and no sr motors. which do you guys think is the best swap for the money. i am hoping to get the shortened 280 stuff tomorrow and start on the 72 in a couple of weeks. thanks steve  Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
Go the KA24, there are millions of them out there in pickups and 240SX. Quote Link to comment
69FJWagon
depends on how much of the work you plan on doing yourself I would go KA24de or SR20de with or without turbo they are easy to find parts for and as long as you dont plan on spinning the thing to 7500 rpm they are both great stock engines and are even better when you do a bit of head work and cams you can also do a computer tune and they wake up :D . My good friend Pat just did an SR20de swap in his 2 door 510 wagon with a kit from DGR fab Dans kit is really a drop in bolt in kit, we went to Sacramento drag strip and ran a 15.0 flat and lifted trying not break out and could of ran around 14.7's or 14.8's not bad for a bone stock SR20de with a header Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
get the last 2 or 3 issues of Dime Quarterly....they've been having a running article on engine swaps...pros/cons....power to weight....difficulty.... Quote Link to comment
BEEBANI
After just doing the ka24e myself, I'd say it's the easiest and probably cheapest. Definitely a torquey motor as well. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
i want to go to efi system and a 5 speed. Then why not a Z20E/Z22E? Almost as easy a physical swap as the L20b, and I can wire one up in about 45 minutes. :P Quote Link to comment
