Glengemen
I was looking at some of the different disk brake threads on here for the kingpin trucks, and I noticed that the upper and lower kingpin mount bushings are just like the ones that were in my truck before changing it over to balljoint: Dead. Some of them are almost gone all together. I was wondering if the bushings are just not out there, or what. I know mine had to shift camber at least 3 full degrees if I rocked it truck side to side. It might be cool to do soild aluminum bushings ifpolys are not availible.......... Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
I know Ryan [in San diego] replaced his with some he found @ a off road parts shop. Didnt cost much & fit good. Let me know & i can call him & get a price & what company makes them. Quote Link to comment
tnip
i would think anything to tighten up the feel of the stock supsension would be useful. in my case i would love to completely upgrade my supension to newer parts, but until i can do control arms and all that jazz i wouldn't mind spending a few hours putting in a few bushings here and there to tighten it up until i can get the funds and time and skills together to upgrade. ... in other words, i'm interested too. :D Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
You can replace those with some standard shock mount bushings. Poly or rubber are easy to find. Ryan used poly ones, I wanna say he got them at action auto, but I can't remember... :P Quote Link to comment
tnip
being as i'm new to suspension stuff like this... are "standard shock mount bushings" a universal size or should i look for something specific, i'll probably be going out to buy some shit today and if you know the measurement off the top of your head i can be lazy and not do it myself :D Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Pretty sure they are a standard size. They are same bushings as the lower shock mount bushings of your front shocks ;) Quote Link to comment
tnip
i kinda figured since you specifically said, "standard shock mount... blah blah" haha thanks for the info, i'll def look into them. Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
The upper fulcrum pin bushings are still available. They're rubber and they still squish quite a bit. The lower control arm has no rubber bushings at the fulcrum pin. Quote Link to comment
tnip
yea.... i really don't know anything about the supension on these lil trucks... but i'm sure i'm gonna have to / want to replace all the suspension bushings. so there's a bushing at the upper mounting point for the kingpin, but none at the bottom? ]2eDeYe
Yep... I think I may order a full bushing kit for a hardbody (or 720 if I can find one) and see which ones match up with the 620 bushings. I'm thinking it will be at least 75% of them... Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
http://info.rockauto.com/Spicer/DetailRemote.html?www.brakeandchassis.com/img/pics.cgi?partno=560-1031,style=P01,brand=6180 You can tell if the upper control arm bushings are worn . Just look and if the PIn is pushed to ones side its shot!!! Youll have more neg camber also(looks like a back of a lowered 510 / Quote Link to comment
