  1. Good to hear! I wish my girlfriend liked my 710 (first step - replace the front seats with ones that aren't totally worn out!)
  2. Yep - all of the US and Canada 710s had the same front fenders. (...and does this mean that you're holding on to your 710?)
  3. ...looks like it's facing a Datsun 310 too!
  4. lime green 610 goon?!? nice! Is the Suzuki in the trunk?

    Plush Li'l Hustler!

I just saw this on ebay - thought it was weird enough to share. here's a link if you're interested in getting a furry green Datsun with a goofy smile and shag hair: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Plush-Datsun-521-truck-toy-stuffed-soft-green-Lil-Hustler-Datson-/190655759889
  6. That garage looks bigger than the house! Could make for a nice Datsun clubhouse...

    My 610

I remember finding out about the supplier from a post on ratsun about 610 weatherstripping, but I couldn't find the original post - I had to look back into my old emails. The store was pretty helpful with helping me find something that would work.

    My 610

For the weatherstripping between the two side windows, I got some for my 710 from this place: http://www.jjautofabrics.com/contactus.html I bought 2 18" pieces of "E401," and now my car is finally waterproof.
  9. Ah! I see it is called "Follow this topic" now!
  10. Thanks for taking on this work! I really liked the "Watch this topic" function of the previous design - hopefully that will be coming back.
  11. If you post it on ratsun, you might have to lower it. I think it says so in the rulebook. ...and I want to see some photos of the cosmonaut camper dashboard.
  12. The Blue Ridge Parkway is pretty incredible! Lots of streams and trees and waterfalls. Also, treat yourself to some fried chicken over here: Eischen's Bar 109 N 2nd St Okarche, OK 73762 <br class="Apple-interchange-newline">
  13. I haven't been able to make a trip to the shop to drill and tap a hole yet, but I think that there is enough aluminum to have a secure place for an adjustment screw. It would be a screw that is the same size as the tapped hole already in the pedestal - the curved slot in the distributor is pretty large, so I wouldn't have enough aluminum to secure a screw that big. My car has a pedestal just like the one that you used in the photos in your post (points ignition, with a shorter tab for the adjustment screw and a large tab for the degree mark....) but it is a five-hour-drive away from me right now, so I just picked up another pedestal while I was in Las Vegas for a school trip. Electronic ignition pedestals were all that I could find! I'll post up some pictures after I get a chance to do the machining.
  14. So I made my trip to some Las Vegas area yards - the two "Pick-a-Part" yards. I'd never been to a yard that had used concrete to make a base for all of the cars to set on, but it sure made getting around easier - especially since I was wheeling around my suitcase. The North Vegas yard didn't have any Datsun cars, just a picked-over 620 and maybe 2 720s The Henderson yard was a lot more useful. 2 280Z 2+2s and a 280ZX, a 620 and a few more 720s. Super-rare El Sentrino This Datsun Z had an offical Nissan oil filter and air filter - the mechanicals might be good! 300zx, Knight Rider Edition
  15. I needed to go to Las Vegas last week, so I stopped by a few junkyards while I was out there to track down a distributor base to mill down so that I could use a Sentra distributor on my 710. All of the 4-cyl L-series Datsuns at the yards that I visited were once matchbox-equipped, though all of the distributors had been nabbed.... but whoever removed the distributors left the pedestals. It appears that the electronic ignition pedestals are a little different, with enough metal on the tab for the adjustment screw to allow another hole to be drilled and tapped.
  16. No problem - thanks for letting me know that the yards are worth a visit - I'll post some pictures if I find any Datsuns.
  17. Those are the ones that popped up when I was doing an online search (I already looked up the city bus routes to make sure that I could get to them!)
  18. Here's the engine harness - all carefully removed by David. It'll be so nice to work with wiring that isn't a mess!!
  19. I always like to check out some junkyards when I'm out west - stuff is so much easier to unbolt without the effects of road salt! Anyway, let me know if you're part of Ratsun's Las Vegas chapter and want to check out some yards next Thursday.
  20. Resurrecting an old thread here, but I got curious and searched today: 0$ minimum bid B210 in Nevada: http://www.copart.com/c2/homeSearch.html?_eventId=getLot&execution=e3s1&lotId=13181492&returnPage=SEARCH_RESULTS 125$ minimum bid 79 KC 620 in Portland: http://www.copart.com/c2/homeSearch.html?_eventId=getLot&execution=e3s1&lotId=11291162&returnPage=SEARCH_RESULTS
  21. There's a '73 610 hardtop up there - with some really weird vinyl top chrome strips!
  22. Thanks! -from what I've been able to find out, it sounds like the inner tube is an emissions feature for when the car is warming up (hooked up to a temperature switch,) and the outer one is the regular advance, but I've never seen this before in any of my Datsuns, so I wanted to be sure.
  23. I picked up a 82 Sentra distributor on ebay (nothing older than 20yrs old in the New York junkyards!!) I'm curious to try this setup out. Unlike the ones in the picture, my distributor has two tubes going into a more complicated-looking vacuum advance - anyone know if I can still use this distributor, or how I should handle the piping?
  24. It's a 710 hardtop, just like mine. Pumpkin210 sent me some parts from the car, so now I finally have a rear package shelf and a non-mangled wiring harness. Woo-Hoo!
