  1. I got a door... 10 bucks? This one I was going to junk... But it has the glass and such... rusted in the bottom...
  2. I just checked if it was continuous.... So in other words my amp meter thingy would beep if i touched the ground and + together... Its not supposed to beep. My truck would not turn on at all! I disconnected that bad ground and my truck turned on... So I just cut some wire's i had laying around and grounded them.... No more dead battery....
  3. I have not gone to see him since I'm busy with work and my truck. Once I get old george running for sure I will visit him....
  4. Ok i will tell you what i did.... My ground has a f'n charge!.... I dont know why but it does. SO I just got some wire and grounded the grounds from the alt and starter to metal... It has not let me down yet.... That and my starter was no good and it keeped draining my bat.... try that out...
  5. iT LOSSES POWER... nOT A TRANNY SLIP FROM WHAT YOU DESCRIBED MOTOR GOD... so i CAN DRIVE IT LIKE THAT FOR A WHILE I GUESS IF I CAN FIND THIS LOSSING POWER PROBLEM....
  6. I just got a timing gun and well it was way way off. I know that the chain is on correctly, "pointer pointed at zero and the V inside the dash but the dash is a little to the right" But now I have to calibrate the distributor. Either it was too retarded and or to advanced... IF SOME ONE IN MY AREa CAN LEND ME A HAND PLEASE DO SO... I'LL PAY FOR SOME TOO LEND ME THERE HELP AND DATSUN WISDOM.... SCHOOL STARTS SOON FOR ME AND WELL I'M RUNNING OUT OF TIME... LET'S SEE WHAT I CAN ACCOMPLISH TOMORROW... Thanks FOR ALL THE ADVICE!!!!
  7. Ahhh! That's some good ideas... I never thought of a fuel starvation problem... But its a Weber... No bowl man... I guess I have to replace the clutch since the arm is hitting the tranny... Not good! Plus I remember that the original clutch cylinder pin would not disengage the clutch so I made a bigger pin. So I'm going to replace that bearing adjust the valves and see what happens.... And also block the fuel return system...
  8. Ok... When going coasting does your car vibrate when you do this?!?!?! So if you coast at 40 mph with the engine off and it shakes "leave the car in neutral"... Its the suspension and or wheels If you drive it until you hit 40 and press the clutch and it stop vibrating, then its the tranny and or engine... Too see if its the engine or tranny then you drive till 40 and press the clutch in... Then you floor the gas.... If the engine shakes at high rpms with the clutch pressed in, then its the engine... If it doesn't and only shakes when the clutch is in. Then its the tranny or the drive shaft or something similar...
  9. I tried everything.... Adjust the fuel timing and everything. But whenever I go on the hwy the 4th and 5th gear makes the engine slowly die. I went home adjusted the carb since it was fouling my plug's... Fix that, engine worked better and went on the hwy again. No good Still the same thing. Checked the timing and advanced it as much as I could... Was nice and revy! VERY NICE and quick!! But once again on the HWY 4th and fifth gear was no good. I went home and parked it... Tried to pull it out and reverse would not go in... The only way that it can go to reverse was when the car was off. Then I tried to go forward and the same thing occurred. Now I"m guessing the clutch is burned or I installed the wrong throw out bearing... I read the forums and it seems that I could of installed the wrong throw out bearing. What is your guys opinions? Or I guess I have to learn everything the hard way. Any advice is greatly appreciated. This is what I have.... L20b, 240z aluminum flywheel, Throwout bearing I believe was from the l18 tranny.   10. I guess I will have to take to get the lifters adjusted. Almost all the engines this truck has had have been making this weird noise... Especial the first one this one came with! But that one just a POS..... Last time I think I got the valves adjusted and it went away... But not to sure since the engine blew out like three days later....
  11. Nah... Everything runs ok.... It does not backfire or nothing like that but when it idles the engine shakes and trembles... So its not running smooth... kind of like this .... RRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRr BRom Brom RRRRRRRRrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr brom rborm rborm RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Brom RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR It shakes on the broms... When I'm driving it goes like this... First gear with the foot on the floor.... RRR! all the way but with this constant CLink clink clink!! But idling is ok.... well until u rev it hard! :lol: SO pretty much when the engine is forced the clinking comes in... HELP!
  12. I had a extra oil pan gasket just like that... When I tried to use it... It was already no good. The sun must of eat it up...
  13. Ok here is the update on the Engine... They installed the chain wrong so I has to redo that and took away my time. Seems pretty slow. Well slower than my old engine... I wonder why? Any who.... Pretty cheap.... So it runs... But I don't know... The price is ok, but I had to do a lot of work and they did not include new head bolts as they promised... So yeah...
  14. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! IT DRIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS FINALLY ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Little shit set me back like the timing chain was installed incorrect, my chain cover broke, installed the header wrong, bad clutch cylinder, bad booster's and brakes, electrcal,... ETC ETC ETC I drove it around the block like 10 times just to be sure everything was fine. Thanks for all your guys help! BUT!!!!! There is one small problem.... Whenever the car is forced, a clanking noise starts up. I'm guessing I need to adjust the valves? Only happen when its being forced or in the wrong gear... THANKS! I'll post some pics up....
  15. I don't know... Make an offer, not rusted.... Hmmm.... I would love that l16 manny, but the one I have is a cool weird looking one... I think its a NON L16 manny since it seems like it used to have a shield protector. But it has no signs of any holes for the smog stuff... Which car did this part come from?
  16. Don't do it man... ITS NOT WORTH IT!!!! This is the F"N 4th time I have to take this peice of hit header off cus its always hitting something. F this!!!! Luckily I did not junk the old non smog manifold and I'm going to reuse it... Wana buy it off me? :D

  19. Tell me how the spray bedliner goes. I want to spray it inside the cab and in the rear bed. What I want to know if the spray bedliner will bubble from the heat inside the cab from the header. THANKS!!!!
  20. There is a 610 wagon at the ecology yard in santa fe springs. The only usable things from the front will be the turn signals... Thats it! The doors are already taken. and the interior and engine is still there... Except the coil I took that....

  22. I hate craftsman.... I have to buy them cus there are sometimes cheaper and all I can afford. I have found some of these "better" tools and well they are a hell of a lot better. My father brought all of his craftsman tools home and bought a new set of these "good tools" for work.... Man its does take away time from me when they break down. But some older craftsman tools are pretty good... Well since you know.... Also MAC is pretty good....
  23. So my project is almost done and well I have some parts to sell. 1.) L18 with closed chamber head "a86" disassembled give me 50 bucks or OBO.. Rebuildable but the block was....   25. I think so man... I just looked at my receipt and it says a 1980 model 720.... I went to rockauto and looked at the 1974 model part # and it don't match the 1980 720 part number for alternator... I JUST WANTED EXTRA POWER!!!! I'm stupid... I'll go return it tomorrow...
