Sold my 4door 510 to fund sheet metal roof,, and got a wild hair to sell my 55 Ford at the same time,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, by some miracle they both sold for the price i wanted.. So after they were gone i was stuck with that stupid 83 280zx turbo ,,,,,, again. I finally finished putting on the stupidly overpriced sheetmetal and had some free time to Craigslist,,, bad idea i know... Came across a 66 411 local that the guy wanted to trade for old cars or motor bikes,,, Fuckin A ,,,,,,,,, that sounds just like an ad aimed right for me. :frantics: So we setled on giving him 2 Z50 type cycles that hadn't even been out of the garage in at least 10 years (took 4 hours to move enough shit outta the way to get the first one even to the door) and a few dollars in cash... Offered the blue 71 SL175 up too but he didn't seem to want it. ,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Ended up with a used tampon red 66 411 that has ( by the paper work ) traded hands faster than a doobie at a Allman brothers concert. Literally the only thing that would make this a "car" is that it can actually drive down road under its own power,,, because of small fire previous owner had that fried the fuse box. Motor smokes and has a severe knock,, and looks toover heat a bit ,, by the brown water stains all over engine bay .. . Windows must leak as there is copious amounts on silicone type material around front and rear windows............ There is a sizeable bondo spots (found with magnet before purchase) behind rear tires. and the head liner is pretty fucked,,,,,,,,, All in all a pretty decent Datsun. Plans are to install an A 14 in got a year or so ago and one of the 2 ,,,,,, yes 2 non dogleg 5speeds in have on the shelf. Long term plans have always been ( have been collecting parts for years) 4Age swap for the noise it puts out,, :lol: :lol: What does this piece of shit look like???????? Well in that respect it shines like a diamond . Previous owner loved the car and it shows ,,, but it looked like it was just was falling apart in every way and if you know anything about these,, the parts are pretty much non-existent Too bad it's really only skin deep.. As QTip has mentioned ,,,,,,,,i probably should have kept the Z50s ;)

My old 55 had no bumpers,, and i have driven by more than a few local and Staters with at no fenders on rear, when i first put it together,, and they have relaxed the rules considerably since then....... There is just to many exceptions to bother pulling you over.. . There is a guy local here that drives a super modified (engine hanging out the side and shit) ,, another that drives a winged sprint car and yet another drives one of the old late 70s "jalopy" race cars ,, with what look like dirt track tires,, i see them all the time at the store down the road... Traded a couple non running Z50s and i little bit of cash for this today... Almost everything that could be wrong with it ,,,,,,,,,,,, is. Wiper motor had caught fire,,, destroying most of engine harness, It looks like it over heats by the brown water stains all over it motor has knock headliner is falling down no gauges or lights work at all sounds like driveline is falling out...... magnet won't stick to either lower rear fender at all. The good? Drove that engine clanging, smoke billowing fucker at about 70 mph down the backroads home.. \ :rofl: :rofl:

^^^ Try doing that up there first ,, but if that don't work Take the front plate/cover off carefully and remove float (there is a tiny metal hoop spacer thing at the end of shaft you can very easily lose) pull out needle and blow into hose that goes into carb and see if anything falls out ,,,, like dirt,, that might be holding needle off the seat... You can do all of this without ever removing carb from truck. And ,, do i see RED RTV on the fuel window,,, cuz that is not good ,, buy a carb kit... That front cover gasket comes in every one. ( doesn't have to be exact year),, as some parts counter guys may bullshit you into.

There will be none of this use of "fancy" parts,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, he will cut , measure and weld to make the god damn things like a real fabricator,, even if i have to put my foot in his ass to get them done.

I seen this happen with one of those upper bolts before ,, can't remember what kinda sound it made,, or when it made it,, but it did.. Although it seems like it did it right from the get-go not a few hundred miles down the road. You say engine noise is loud enough to sound like a diesel?? Get out your timing light and run engine while watching light pulses.. If the sound ,, sounds like a lifter rattle but twice as fast it might be a rod bearing.. Have you pulled any plugs and looked at them to see if electrode broke off and is rattling around in there or something weird?? I have seen shit get down into cylinder that sounds like a rattle ,,,

We took motor out so he still has to get Ka in there first ...... Have you told Pineapplehead which motor mounts you used so he won't have to mix and match to figure out?? . I have told FAT he is going to make his own outta all the brackets we have laying around but that really doesn't help Robopineapple head much..
