  3. So I've been bitching at my family about cleaning up their bread crumbs off the counter every morning after making toast. They never seem to do it. Instead, they sweep it under the toaster and laugh because every night when they're asleep, a loan roach comes creeping out and I ALWAYS chase him over my cluttered counter. He always gets away. NO TONIGHT. I spent the last hour creeping on him until finally, I GOT HIM! There some be some LOL'z because, I left behind a chronology of events on paper for them. I feel so fucking accomplished. Sleep time.

  11. Thanks guys for the advice! Deffinitly not the solenoid, as I can hear it click on after turning the ignition on, and it will idle if I advance the timing 1 degree. (I loose massive power at 1 degree!) Mike, according to the tag under my hood with the emissions info on it, idle on the 5 speed is 700RPM @ 5 degrees. I'm gonna go tinker with the thing as soon as I have time. I really need to re-jet the carb, so maybe now would be a good time eh? Mixture screw is on the base of the carb, correct? GGzilla, I'm not sure what's up with that light. It's about 40 years old, the magnet was falling out of it, and it was kinda finicky to start.
  12. Yup, all the good ones are far away. Hoping to find one near by at a good price. There was a '71 240Z in great shape for 1800, but it left before we could jump on it.
  13. That's correct. Vac advance would only effect it under throttle anyways.
  14. Maybe disable the coil so there no spark to the engine, turn it over, and see if it still shoots white smoke? I had this problem once.... Can't remember for the life of me what caused it
  15. On my A-series 210. Electronic dizzy, MSD ignition, Weber 32/36 I noticed when helping my friend set the timing on his Chevy that my timing light was off, which meant my car was off. Went and picked up a new inductive timing light, and found my timing was about 16 degrees btdc, and re-adjusted to the FSM spec of 5 degrees. Made a shit ton more power, but now has trouble idling. I've re-adjusted it now to about 900RPM idle, and it still won't idle. If I turn on my headlights, it will drop to 400RPM and stall at idle. All this was done with the engine warm @ 180degrees after an hour of driving. I can't imagine how bad it's gonna be after cooling off I really don't wanna advance the timing again, because it seemed like with advanced timing it ran like shit compared to now. I've already pulled the idle jet and cleaned it, replaced all the ign components recently (cap, rotor, plugs, wires, etc) and can't seem to figure out why it won't idle where it should be.
  16. Got a voltmeter? Try hooking it up and check the voltage on the battery, then check the other end of positive @ the starter for the same reading. If theres any difference between the two, clean your connections!
  17. Like the title says, I'm looking for a Z car for a friends project. Somewhere around Georgia would be nice. Doesn't need to be running, although it's preferred. Need a 100% interior or close. Paint is irrelevant. The car will be going under the knife for a drivetrain swap and a full resto, so something relatively complete would make it easier when piecing it back together. BTW, We don't want a ZX (And deffinitly not a 2+2!)

  21. Curious what the thread pitch is on an A-series transmission (in metric measurements.) i hear it's the same as L-series, but I still need the measurements. Looking into playing with some fab work one of these days
