  1. Next project on the desk is a Matchbox Lotus Caterham. My buddy has a UK replica series car, built by Taylor Motorsports, and is one of 3 or 4 here in the States. It will be British Racing Green, with a silver lower half (polished aluminum on the car). The car runs a Honda CBR 900 motorcycle engine, with an auxilary reverse gearbox. That car screams bloody murder! Only big drawback is that the exhaust is on the wrong side, compared to the car, and would be very difficult to swap around, cuz the chassis on this one (which includes the exhaust) is made of polypropelene (like the interiors on most), and I'm not aware of ANY glue that will hold it back together long term. It's hard enough to paint PP. That PP is a pain in the ass! This body will be easy to do......
  2. Update on the 510 Ute project! Roof & trunk opening has been filed & cleaned up. Had a l'il slip of my hand on the stationary belt sander, getting the rear roof line crisp, and took out a small chunk at the top of the left rear 1/4 panel. A little JB Weld filler, and should be good! The rear bed has been trimmed & fitted.......it was so close right out of the Holden Ute!......so is awaiting painting (with "Adhesion Promoter") along with the body. Rear glass out of the Holden Ute also only needs minor trimming to fit!
  3. I would buy a pair to start, and would consider going in on a group buy to keep shipping costs down.
  4. Geez, what won't they build a robot out of!!?? That is cool!!
  5. Argh, your PM mailbox is FULL!! I generally keep deals & offers to PM, so clear out your PM & reply there if interested! I already wrote this all out, so here it is copied & pasted............. I have a pretty nice matched PAIR of black 510 reclining seats (4dr & Wagon) that I would sell for $150 + shipping. The problem is that shipping is expensive at approximately $100 via Greyhound......I just shipped another set to a Ratsun member in CA. These are simply a clean set of original 510 seats, but if you are seriously interested, I can dig them out, clean them up and take pics. All I ask, is that if you aren't really interested, I'd rather not spend all that time doing all of that! :hmm: . Also, if you decide that you want them, I do require pre-payment for the seats, then I spend the time & cost of boxing them, then get the shipping cost, you pay for that, and I ship. Sorry, have had too many "potential" buyers back out of deals, after spending time boxing things up. I hope you understand! :) Do you still have the original 510 seats? If so, what if I stripped my seats down, and shipped all of the upholstry, foam padding & hardware? It would be more labor for both of us, but much much cheaper shipping! The last late model seats that I installed in one of my 510's, were out of a 1990-1993 Acura Integra. Dead easy to install, and comfy! I think they are only found in tan or dark charcoal grey. I simply bent the front mounting eyelets on the Integra rails, and they lined up with the factory 510 holes!! Use your original 510 stamped steel angled seat mounting brackets which bolt to the floor, bend flat or cut off the rear eyelets, and drill new holes for the rear mounting of the Integra rails.
  6. Didn't happen, unless there are pics!! We want to see pics!!!!!!!!!! :w00t:
  7. Wead, is that a 510 dogleg? I would think that it can it be used on the 2dr and the 4dr.....?? That will be a nice piece!
  8. Rat, yes 2012 Mountain Series. Is that a JDM grille in that Wagon? That thing is cool! Man, I hope to make the JCCS event next year, cuz I'm moving to Colorado in 3 weeks, so I'll be much closer!
  9. Double fisted drinking!! Wohoooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! 7+ more hours to go today........... :crying:
  10. Rat, even the Holden rear glass can be easily made to fit!!!! Gittin' close to posting pics..........
  11. Yup, like David said, looks like an Amco, with a custom double cup holder in place of the og lid! That's cool!
  12. You Aussies are freakin' out of control! :frantics: :hyper:
  13. Matchbox "MBX Mountain" Holden Ute SSV #W4796-0910 (??) of the "Mountain Series". The bar code # is 35995 30782.
  14. But you can still do 5:10 in a few hours, AND you get to drink beer longer than I do.............
  15. So I just finished dropping an L16 engine (core) into a 510 that I sold, washed my hands, walked into my office, knowing it was "about that time" so I grabbed a beer, looked at the clock, and.............it was 5:10pm. I love it!!
  16. You will need to cut the auto hole bigger, cuz it's actually really small. Best bet is to slip the trans up in place, bolt it to the engine with the tail of the trans hanging down, but on a floor jack. From the interior, slowly & methodically trim away more metal with a cutoff wheel, until the shifter extension can be shifted up into position, with approximately an inch all around (for engine/trans movement)........don't be an ape and use a chisel!!! Seen it done that way too many times. :sneaky:
  17. A 1200 Ute..........very cool!! B) That valence on the front of the 510 looks.......almost looks......NEW!
  18. Lookin' great Ratwagon! I found a Holden SSV Ute (odd cuz we never got Holden here in the USA), made by Matchbox, with a plastic rear inner bed. Sorry, I was so excited about it, that I immediately cut it up, so no pic of the Ute!! Anyway, to my astonishment, once I cut the forward interior off, the bed actually fit up inside the 510.........width & length!! Still lots of l'il trimming to do, but so far it's almost like it was made for this!! :w00t: More later...........
  19. Now that's saving a poor car that would have potentially been parted & scrapped! Nice!!!!!!!! Ice, what's that small light blue car/truck.......almost looks like a Mini Cooper Pickup! Man, a FREE Microbus?? Research that sucka on The Samba, cuz as you may be aware, some of those things are worth good mulla!!
  20. hey wead, pics will sell your products, especially here on ratsun, cuz everyone's a pic whore! Just post the pics directly into each of your posts. Takes a li'l getting used to, but here's how......... http://community.ratsun.net/topic/691-how-to-post-pictures-and-keep-online-photo-albums/
  21. I can't get most of your links to work................. :crying:
  22. Ha, I know that driveway!! I was just there a few weeks ago!! Did you buy the dark burgandy car with the l'il flares? Welcome to the forum!!
  23. Is your dizzy worn out, or do you simply want EI? The aftermarket Pertronix EI kits are really nice, and easy to install. I think it's #1741.............
  24. My understanding is that the map lights are VERY rare here in the States, cuz they were not available to this market, from the factory. They may have been sold as a "kit" over the parts counter, like the factory tachs. The white plastic lens is in all of the USA-spec cars, right above the radio, but if you pull the radio panel, chances are the actual map light is not there. You are likely simply missing the plastic plug that went in the spot where the switch would have been on a non-USA-spec car! Wasn't it a clear red plug that was a seatbelt warning light?? And yes, the heater control panel still had the lettering on the face for the switch, but again, I don't think they were ever sold in the cars.
